I'm surprised it didn't slip by me. After walking the soles of my shoes off Christmas shopping today, I'm beat.

so what is the value

Post by willyt »

so what is the value for this book? i have offers of $800 + now, and i believe i will sell it tonight unless someone offers higher tonight. It is hard to sell this book. What do yall think the prospects for this book to increase in value and as a collectible as a key book to have in the valiant acclaim collection. Im kind of biased so i thought what are yall thoughts.. or offers?
Also it is fair to take bids from email or should i re list it? I presume it is acceptable and couth as a seller..?

thanks yall
happy new year

I would have guessed it's worth approximately $500 in this market.

My own opinion would be to grab the $800, and presto it's worth $800 since that's what the buyer and seller are willing to execute and this is one of a kind.

X2!

$800 is a great price IMO. I was thinking $450-$500 as well

one of them things

Post by willyt »

ya i kinda expected a G or so. It is one of those books where i can see being turned around and sold higher in some ways. I dont know maybe.
It seems that it is competitive in what i thought was a stronger market for that book.

thanks for your time it will be interesting to see where it ends up.

I no longer use GPA, however here's the current census (10 graded copies total)

9.8: 1
9.6: 5
9.4: 2
9.0: 2

My max bid in the auction was over $500 and I was surprised to be the high bidder. So that shows how well I know. Having said that, $800 sounds good enough right now. At least personally I am not in a position to counter. What would happen a second time on eBay and how much the book will be worth in the future, noone knows.
Also it is fair to take bids from email or should i re list it? I presume it is acceptable and couth as a seller..?

During its course, an eBay auction should not be ended. Now that the auction is over, noone can say anything about how you sell it. You're trying to give everyone a fair chance which is cool.

For $800 i say take it! And i'm a guy that actually had a sharp looking copy of this book that i traded back in the day....i know you think it's worth more, but c'mon it's Armorines and Acclaim - how much do you think this book is really worth?

There are 9.8s with lower print runs of comics with better following from more fans that don't come anywhere near this price...
