I think I'm going to go with Magnus 5/Rai 1 flipbook.

To me, the most underrated book of the entire Valiant universe! First appearance of the first original valiant character, the coolness factor of the flipbook, kicking off the invasion storyline, so much going on!

:thumb:
That would have been my second choice. Good pick, Woogie.
My first choice. :thumb:

I love these kinds of polls. There are so many to pick from and I haven't read them in years. Have to go with Rai 0 as well, just too rich in content.
Other personal favorites include EW 11, Ninjak 0 + 00, X-O 9.

This is easy for me-Solar 10.

This book was both a regular issue and a gimmick issue, was loaded with extras, had original BWS material, introduced a major character (EW), and it had not only the end of the extra story, it had the comic panel also.

$3.95 cover was a lot of money back then for a book, looks like a bargain now for what you got.

reeeeaallly hard to pick just one...especially from pre-unity since they all flowed into a much larger picture...

magnus 1-4 and 5-8 (with Rai) kicked butt
solar 1-10 awesome
harby 1-6 incredible
X-O 1-4 great

they are like potato chips...can't have just one...

there are also great issues post unity...from EW and A&A

I say Harbinger #25, the big battle issue.
I've never read that issue, and wondered if it was any good. I'll read it next based on your post. :thumb:

in the sense that it culminates things, but the execution was just ok IMO...don't get me wrong, I really dug Harbinger up to and including 25...but it could have been soooo much more.

Ah...the end of Magnus :)

I finally read Giffen's arc in its entirety...I liked it, but didn't...hahahaha. Definitely wouldn't put it in my top 10 books...

JonesyAZ wrote:Hmmm...single favorite Valiant issue? I think it changes a lot, actually...hahahaha.

Probably Ninjak #1...because it was the first Valiant book I remember buying when it was new on the shelves, and at the time I was a HUGE Joe Quesada fan from his work on X-Factor (I think?)

I just loved the chromium, the artwork...the story was compelling and the character seemed Batman-ish (Bats is still my favorite character...lol)

Other notables are:
- Solar #29 (the first Valiant Vision issue...shocker? Lol)
- HardCorps #1 (I love the original team!)
Listen, Jonesy, I kinda like you, so I'm gonna give you another chance, but if you ever post another post like that one.... :P

We need to git you sumore pre-unity! :thumb:

Bloodshot #49 comes close to the top of the list. As does Bloodshot #23. And...

I think Magnus 3 might be my favorite...W-3 becoming Tekla to try to win the heart of Magnus and I think that might be the one with the moment that Magnus can tell the free-will robots apart.

Tough choice. I liked all the early Magnus issues, but I'll go with Harbinger #1. I loved the editorial where Shooter likened the book the Avengers #1.
