Mail Order Comics
I get my new books from Mail Order Comics. I asked if they would be able to order a quantitiy of the DK Solar/Magnus books, here is their response:
Hi Darryl,
"I believe that the Free Comic Book Day items are going to be solicited
either in January or February and they should be up for order on our
website. When they are solicited, I believe you will be able to order as
many of an item as you like.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Years!

If anyone would like me to order copies and mail to them, let me know. Just cover the costs, which unfortunatley I don't know yet.

I'd be careful ordering quantities from them (MOC). I did that a lot several years back when I was buying quantities of new books. I ordered 75 Amazing Spider-Man 569 from them, which was a huge hit for me, but almost half were severely damaged. I still did great on that book, but it certainly would've been much more profitable if I'd received all NM books. I had a very bad experience through them about 4 or 5 years ago, when I ordered even heavier on a book and they were almost all damaged.
I've had success on quantities through them as far as condition every other time I used them, which I would guess was maybe 15-20 times. Chances are you won't have any problems, but no guarantee. Ask them if they arrive damaged if you can return them, and if you want to ensure yourself a quantity in NM condition order from several places.

Starbrand, while I never ordered more than 1 copy of a book from them, I used MOC for several years without one single problem. Well, I did have one book that was damaged. The cover was scuffed pretty bad. They sent a replacement immediately via priority mail at their expense. I never had anything but good results with them. But, like I said, I didn't order multiple copies of books.
I think MOC runs a great business, no doubt. I just personally wouldn't order quantities from them anymore.Heath wrote:Starbrand, while I never ordered more than 1 copy of a book from them, I used MOC for several years without one single problem. Thanks, I'll probably be ordering from them.cshepard81 wrote:I don't know about quantity, but I asked DCBS if I'd be able to preorder FCBD books from them and they just replied saying I will be able to begin ordering FCBD books in January [Jan = May's preorder].Daniel Jackson wrote:That's cool that are going to do that. I wonder if DCBS will as well?

Does Mail Order Comics send out order updates via email?
I placed an order for the FCBD books earlier this month and paid via paypal. When I check the order page, it says unshipped but I din't get a confirmation from them that they got payment. Wondering if my order is still guaranteed with them and won't get allocated or something....
(first time buyer from there...)

Mail Order Comics bills your credit card (or PayPal) on the last day of the month. After you're billed it's usually about 2 months before you recieve that order, as the solicitations are that far ahead of the ship dates.
Your order is guaranteed unless the publisher doesn't ship on time. After a couple of months of a book not shipping, you will get a refund. The only book I've ever had that happen on was Youngblood, and by even ordering Youngblood, I was kind of asking for it anyway.

If it says unshipped, it means your order was paid for, but not yet shipped. I have bought from them for about 7 years, never had a problem.vikingspawn wrote:Does Mail Order Comics send out order updates via email?
