I think the new series will be called "FF."
And it will probably be mediocre just like all FF books.
I'd have agreed with you in the past but have you been reading Hickman's run? He's quickly becoming one of my favorite writers. I'm not sure I've read a more enjoyable FF run since Lee/Kirby --- mostly because so much has been mediocre crap since then (well, Byrne's run was solid too..). Btw, the current Garney art doesn't hurt.

Hickman's writing on SHIELD has also impressed me. Too bad it's bi-monthly but I'd rather have that than another bland monthly.
No, I haven't. Honestly, I get the same feeling that Chiclo does from Hickman's writing except I hate that feeling.

You guys are the first people I've heard say that it's really good. Everyone else..... even those who like Hickman..... seem to be underwhelmed.

I do plan on checking out SHIELD probably in trade though. That's a pretty cool concept.

I've always found FF to be somewhat enjoyable, but that's just not good enough to keep me around these days. The only FF story I've read that I've really liked is the Grant Morrison FF 1234 mini series. And I usually think GM is overrated.

Good to hear, I've had that series sitting in my unread box for awhile now..I'll have to bump it up based on your recommendation :thumb:

Picking up some of the late Crossgen issues may not be a bad idea, if you come across them cheap.
I recently sold a Meridian 44 in FN 6.0 for 14.98 including shipping. That's a tough issue to find. Also, I sold a Ruse 24 for 9.98 including shipping. I think that one was a 9.2 copy. I've had good success with the last several issues of Ruse. Issue 24 seems harder to find than even the last issue. Starting with issue 22 or 23, Ruse gets tougher to find.

Nice, SB. :thumb:

At the recent local con, I picked up the Sojourn Prelude and Sojourn #1 in the 3/$1 bin.

Mystic 42 and 43 have seemed fairly hard to find over the last year. There is a copy of 43 on eBay in VF for 1.11 at the moment, and mycomicshop has a NM copy for 5.49. There's a 42 in NM on eBay for 3.70 right now. Still, good issues if you can find 'em cheap. Also, Scion 43 might be one to pick up. Mycomicshop offers it at 4.30 and Mile High has it in stock at 8.70. That one seems tougher to me than some of the other last issues of Crossgen.

So this next FF is going to involve a major character being killed. And the mainstream media will probably pick up on this. And it could be sold out everywhere in a day, like the Obama Spidey or Cap Dead.

Shouldn't it be possible to pick up a stack of these through pre-orders and then just flip them that week? Is that seedy? Shady? I have no intention of doing this, I was just wondering.

I asked for a couple of extra copies for people in my office who were interested, but I haven't flipped any comics like that since Superman died (I pre-ordered 20 for $2 each, the guy at the comic shop bought them all back from me for $20 each the day it came out ... I still don't have a copy, haha).

I predict FF will be re-named to the Fantastic Threesome and the "dead" member will come back in issue #600.

the Tremendous Trio.

wait ... are they really changing the name, too? i figured they'd eventually pick up an extra member to round it out.

The current previews does not solicit a book with the title "Fantastic Four" but there is an FF #1.

I already have an FF #1 but I paid a bit more than cover price for it.
