I think there might be contributions from a few other guys here other than JC and Magnus, however, since I couldn't get a copy, I have no way of confirming it. To anyone who has one, was there an article on "Dead Universes" included in there?sonicdan wrote:The Overstreet FCBD book was my favorite this year!
Nice going JC and Magnus!

Aside from the main body about collecting, reading, buying, selling, grading and storing (like I said, there is a lot of info) comics there are 2 sections of note relating to the forum.
First is the section on DUs which features our very own Lord of the dark corners of the DU basement, Knightt and second is the section about collecting by character which has a brief history of Elric and a checklist of Elric appearences as well as the Magnus interview.
After that are origins of Captain Action and Witchblade.
For such a short piece, this book is great. Creators, both amateur and professional could learn a lot from the crew that put the book together. If everyone paid attention to the way this book were laid out and the way the whole thing flows in both the sequential art sections and the prose pieces, everyone would be reading comics.

IF (and right now I don't wan to give odds) Diamond finds the 1,500 copies we're missing, I will be glad to make them available for a nominal charge (probably just shipping for one or two copies, a minor fee for more).
I'll keep you posted. Otherwise, I'll check with some of the shops we visited yesterday and I'll bet they have some.

Thanks for the thoughts on the FCBD issue. Mark Huesman at Gemstone is the guy who did all the design and production, and he proofed all my work. The concept, growing out of last year's version, was mine. We had enthusiastic encouragement from Steve Geppi and Bob Overstreet, and the contributions that you can see in it.Drift wrote:Aside from the main body about collecting, reading, buying, selling, grading and storing (like I said, there is a lot of info) comics there are 2 sections of note relating to the forum.

Aside from the participation of board members, which I think really gave it the essential collector flavor, our thanks go to Gene Gonzales (comic art), Mike Solof (photography), Bailey Ball (Bailey's Blurbs), the Captain Action guys (particularly Ed Catto and Joe Ahearn) and Top Cow (particularly Filip Sablik). Mike Wilbur from Diamond International Galleries helped with editing, and the folks at Dark Horse got us permission for the cover.

I have yet to even see one of these... but trying to work on it. I should have a few by this weekend, which will turn right around and be sent to my so named 'co-conspirators'.
