And I have the (current) high bid on it  .

Had no idea it was yours before I slapped a bid on it, but definitely good to know the seller's a well-respected member here  .

Noted.

OTOH, I might actually let you win it, since I just bought one from another seller.

I did say might :atomic: ...

Wow....
I know. There are cheaper copies at lower BIN prices. Winner may get buyer's remorse.

I noticed there is even a slabbed copy with a lower price. Crazy....

I once mentioned the CEOG as an example of a cheaper gold in a conversation with a guy who is well versed in such things. He said that years ago, the CEOG was thought to be one of the harder to find golds and that the print run was suspected to be quite small.

I think the price guide here used to say there were 1,000 copies or something close to that, but they just turned up too frequently for that number to be accurate, it seemed.

I'd have to agree that there are far more than 1,000 due to the frequency they've shown up, so like most of you I have NO idea what's particularly special enough about the (currently) $28 copy on eGay, other than the fact it does at least "appear" to be a tight copy, and the seller does state it's in "darn near perfect" condition which'd certainly bring the price up a little for a premium grade. Not enough to warrant three times what I just paid for this one, though (yes, it's the same one Todd was selling 8-) ):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... MEWNX%3AIT

On the flip side of that, although print run is stated to be the same as the CEOG, I rarely see the A&A #0 GOLD come up for auction, and when I do, it's got an asking price on it that screams much less than 5,000 copies like this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Archer-Armstrong-0- ... 3a6646a503

(***Goes without saying this same seller also has an EW #1 Gold "flat" with a starting bid of $75  .)

Or "worse", what about this'n?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Valiant-Comics-Arch ... 53e1b661fa

:screwy:

Granted, that's still far more than any of us on here would be willing to pay; but my point is being that over the last several months, I have yet to see a seller slap one up for auction with a BuyItNow under even $50, let alone it's current guide price of $20.

Just sayin'...

I'm sure the condition is a factor in the sale, these are very, very tough to find in 9.6 or better...
