V-H-3?

Post by bribri »

So, will the new books in 2012 be considered V-H-3?

I notice the database has been updated to:

THE VALIANT UNIVERSE (1991 to 1996, 2007 to present)

Which would seem to group the new books with V-H-1.

I suppose we'll have to wait and see how the new books and universe is handled... No?

That's interesting. I labeled this topic "V-H-3?" and it automatically updated to "Acclaim (1999 Series)?"

I guess Shadowman Volume 3 is considered V-H-3...

So, are the 2012 books V-H-4...? :?

If we have V-H-1, V-H-2 and V-H-3, why not just refer to the new incarnation as Valiant and save the V-H-x labelings for those that have failed?

How about Valiant Heroes Relaunch, VHR ?

:?

As how this may incorporate old and new (Valiant/Acclaim), we could get away from the old naming convention and have a fresh start and new hope.

Any follow on reboots or whatever happens could be VHR-1, VHR-2, etc.

I say we go with just "VEI". If we have Sub categories at some point, like "Pre-Unity", or "VEI 1", that means things are rolling and we have some sort of a real universe and it's all good.

I think there has been enough "time" and separation to not label the the new Valiant Universe in context with what came before.

Since we've always been used to the sequential numbering, I think VH4 would be appropriate.

Sounds good to me, besides they hardly play music videos on there any longer...

I don't think VH-3 or VH-4 is a good idea... that implies that VH-2 matters. :P

VEI is a good name, and the "I" could also be a "1", so VE1 might work as well.
Just "Valiant" is probably enough if it's understood we're talking about new books.
"New Valiant" is probably how it will be described by the general comic community.

There's probably some value in using the 2012 aspect (at least until 2013),
so if we must have a VH numbering, then VH-12 might work... really VH '12.

A little more descriptive would be Valiant 2012 or Valiant '12 or Valiant Universe 2012...
or we might as well call it "New Valiant", if that's going to be the general purpose name anyway
... or perhaps VEI will roll out the line with a specific name for marketing purposes.

This is a fun conversation to have :) I like the ideas of VH4, V2012, or simply VEI.

New Valiant might work.

Having a Valiant Entertainment with whatever nomenclature (i.e. VE??) does not fit well as the 'company' VEI covers more than just comics. In regards to talking about comics, the 'entertainment' aspect of the company is not 'comic' centric (it would appear so from the most recent interviews). It would be like calling the old comics Voyager Communications 1 (VC1).

Calling the universe "New Valiant" makes sense. It's currently being produced and we're not talking about it in the past tense.

But referring to specific titles, "VEI Bloodshot" or "VEI Shadowman" makes the most sense to me. "New Valiant Bloodshot" is awkward. "New Bloodshot" is better, but that could still refer to the latest book out that month(or whatever).

I don't know. Just my 2 cents. :?

I thought we had been calling the Kothari group "DNV" for a while now... why not that for the comics?

I just prefer, in chronological order, VALIANT and Acclaim for the first two universes and either Valiant or VEI for the current.

Valiant Comics - and that's it. Heck with the numbering - hyphens - acronyms. Start fresh, be fresh.

Valiant comics sounds good!

I don't like the 12 idea. Too short sighted, although we all know that the world ends in 2012...unless it ends this fall. Or sooner.

I prefer VH4 for the purposes of this fan site of which I have no control, authority, influence, or any likesness thereof.
