A store owner just told me DC allocatted Justice League 1 2nd printings to 30% of orders, and a 3rd print is on the way. He wasn't happy about the allocation. He told me his theory on this was DC is trying to get more people to try digital by allocating this book. It's an interesting theory.
In any event, the 2nd print of that issue might be hard to find.

Does anyone have pics of the 2nd or 3rd print covers yet?

Are you joking? This doesn't feel like a joke.

Cry for Justice was a different mini-series. It came out a couple of years ago and the climax of the mini-series was when Green Arrow shot and killed Prometheus. That is a second print of a book that is a couple of years old, not one that is a week old.

My bad. I did a search for "Justice League 1 2nd" and must've been in a bit of a hurry.

Just sold my Detective #1 for $10 and free shipping. I am seeing Action going for around $10, Justice League Combo going for $15 and Justice League going for around $10. :o

I can't believe there is this much activity going on right now.

Lastly, I went to my LCS today and they have a lot of each of these books left. I might have to become a speculator

I was fortunate to sell a Justice League 1 for 22.95 including shipping today. I sold a Batgirl for around 17.00 today shipped.
I've never seen anything like this, where books are going for this much over cover 24 hours after release, and they're still available in lots of stores. Thing is, some stores are out of some of the titles.
I remember Ultimate Spider-Man 1 was 25.00 the day it was released. Wolverine: Origin 1 was a couple bucks over cover before its release date. This is crazy, though.

My local stores are out of those titles too and are *SQUEE* at Diamond because they can't get more. They won't let them re-order more for each of the launch weeks left in September. They're even having a hard time covering the customers that pre-ordered them.

Are you sure about that? Market wide or was that the price at one shop. If I remember correctly, it took a little bit before USM caught on.

IMHO, yeppers. 8-12 months down the road, we will see where those books settle sales-wise and if this is a boom or a bust period. Considering the huge numbers of these out there, I roll with bust.

I've been hearing reorders are tough to come by so far, too. Perhaps DC really is trying to drive people to buy digital copies. Whatever the reason, despite the high print runs, demand seems to be strongly exceeding supply on some of these books.

I'm talking about what it was doing the day it was released on eBay. I had copies of that book and I watched it on eBay closely the day it hit. It was extremely hot from day one on eBay. I actually bought quantities of the first two issues of that book, as I was into Bendis before he was at Marvel.

Ultimate Fallout 4 1:25 CGC 9.8. It's going to be interesting to see what this book goes for.

Although there are sellers listing Justice League 1 for around 7.00 BIN, this is about the 10th copy I've seen go for around 20.00 or more.

Surprising......Have you seen regular copies of Action going for $10? All I've noticed is the variant cover going for around that much.

All I've sold (My first attempt at selling on ebay, to be honest) was Batgirl #1 for $10 + $4 shipping. I didn't like the issue too much, so I sold it. I don't think Stormwatch will sell for much, so I doubt I'll bother with that one. I might put Action Comics #1 up.

Detective & Justice League I'm going to give to my 8yr old son, as I think he'll like them.

I'm wondering whether the #1 issues of Batman, Batwoman, and Superman will be worth buying and putting up on ebay. The only other #1 issue I was planning to get was Aquaman, and I assume I'll like that one.

btw, have you guys seen this autographed issue of Justice League #1 on ebay? It's going for over $200, lol:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Justice-League- ... 2a13b44d2a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I mean......Regardless of how much people are buying JL #1 on ebay for, this is a bit out there. I guess they don't realize they could go to a comic convention and get a copy autographed, if it means so much to them.

That's an amazing price on that autographed copy. Of those you mention, I would guess Batman 1 might do pretty good. Time will tell.

Horizon Comics listed 7 copies of Detective Comics at 11.95 each on a dutch auction, and sold 4 already today. Wow.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DETECTIVE-COMIC ... 1e66d4cab8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

One sold yesterday at 14.99 on the Bay, and one at 20.00. Sheesh!

I just called a local store. They have Batgirl #1. They are selling them at $11.99 off the shelf.

They told me they had the Detective #1 and were selling them $1 over cover on the Wed. they came out.

Ughh.

If I owned a shop, I'd sell one copy at cover and then raise the price for each additional copy. You gotta do something to make sure these books get into the hands of readers and that you aren't poaching them.

90s re-visited. Maybe everything really does go in 20 year cycles. Even comic crashes.

My local shop had a 1 copy per customer limit sign for the DC 52 on the new release wall.

Retailers down here are frustrated about this Diamond shortage/allocation deal.

In any event, the 2nd print of that issue might be hard to find.

They'd have to allocate. How else could they possibly do it when the retailers didn't order enough ahead of time? There are likely retailers ordering like crazy even after they've set the print run for the latest printing. They have to give a print run number to the press at some time.

Are you saying that DC may be short printing these on purpose to get fans to read digital? I seriously doubt that. This just sounds like a retailer who is frustrated that he can't sell more copies to speculators (which is likely what is happening around the country).

DC isn't going to underprint and turn away money. Those who want digital are going to try it. Those who want print are going to wait. At this point, I still don't think those two audiences are too interchangeable....... yet.

While there are still a bajillion Action #1s and Justice League #1s available on ebay, the best book so far, Animal Man, appears to be drying up on ebay. Although it's not selling for much, that's still the book on my radar because the story was excellent. Most who have read all of the new books or at least some of them agree that it's the best of the bunch.

All the shops in my area sold out of Action 1s within the first few days. Same seems to be happening on Action. However, look at ebay and you will see that there is no shortage. Everything keeps coming back to speculators to me with a crash looming. Does anyone see it differently?
