What do you think will be included in the issue? Is it going to be short stories for X-O, Harbinger and Bloodshot? Do you think they will introduce any other characters or is that too much to expect in one issue? Do you seeing this issue laying out a foundation for the New Valiant or is it just going to focus on the individual characters?

Follow-up question: How do you think the New Universe will be formed?

I'd guess 7 or 8 pages per story, X-O, Harbinger, and Bloodshot.

In the original Valiant, Solar was responsible for altering creation and making superheroes possible...
but we really didn't see anything unusual in the history of the planet earlier than Archer, Gilad, and Ivar.

It seems logical that the "three immortal brothers" could be at the foundation of new Valiant history,
perhaps with some kind of genetic alterations from an extraterrestrial source, or maybe they were born immortal
and their genetics are studied by an extraterrestrial source to determine the source of their mutation?

Either way, there could be experiments throughout history, but the technology of the past 100 years (especially the past 50)
could be the reason that there are so many more "unique individuals" in the present and the focus of the Valiant universe comics.

Interesting...I've been wondering how the universe came to be in the new Valiant. I was thinking something along the lines of X-O and the vine, but I wasn't sure how it would tie in to the development of powers in the characters.

In Eternal Warrior 37 (I think?) it is revealed that Gilad and Aram were brought to the man that raised them as their father and that he was not their father. That thread was never pulled much beyond that to my knowledge.

Timewalker 0 builds on that. We'll see if the new universe has a similar story.

If they truely want this new universe for Valiant to succeed then they need to have a completely new origin for the universe, but still have nods to the old school. Kinda like the reboot of Planet of the Apes with "Rise" movie. Take a good story and make it better, but still give the old-schoolers something to cheer about.

That whole situation seemed to be a weird revision to how things originally seemed to be with the brothers. Not a knock on BWS...but even the evewntual inclusion of Ivar as a brother to Gilad and Aram just seemed to be an "add on" that came about because it was a convenient way to have 3 musketeers in A&A/EW #8. The eventual plot line that claimed that all of Gilad's children went insane also just seemed to be "made up" for convenience sake as well (as Gilad's first child was fine, and the Geomancer at the time expressed no hesitation about Gilad having kids...and of course Aram had tons of kids throughout time).

I am very curious to see how the "immortal brothers" are handled in the new Valiant. I thought the Acclaim origin was pretty lame (and of course it turned out there were lots and lots of immortals...its just that Ivar/Gil/Aram were the three oldest...except of course for their mother and father who were introduced later...bleh I forgot how bad that series was!).

It seems ridiculous to me that nearly a month after announcement we have no idea who is actually writing and drawing these stories.

There is no reasonable explanation as to why they wouldn't reveal this, the most important information, and it is starting to sour me towards it a little bit.

People that have been waiting and teased this long shouldn't be forced to wait even more due to some absurd, out dated idea of marketing hype.

The comic doesn't even come out for about 6 months, is it really that absurd? Personally, I wasn't expecting to hear any news about artist/writers until sometime after the new year.

Yeah, I don't see the point in panicking over minor tidbits like that in the first place.

Just knowing about the FCBD participation and the word of new books to follow soon after is enough for me. Anything else is just icing on the cake....

I wouldn't be too surprised if we didn't get names until the solicits for the books come out. Based only on some of the comment we've seen, March wouldn't surprise me.

At this point, releasing the names of the creators won't really have any impact. It won't have any impact until the solicits are out and people can order the books. Why get people excited now while there are no books out and they can't even be ordered? :?

The only reason that we've seen that X-O cover is likely because they needed it to be included for the silver book listing for FCBD.

Fair reasoning. I just hope VEI has these crews locked in for a full arc. I hate when you can't even go 4 issues without having the artist change twice and then a new writer.

They certainly better or we are going to see Dark Key part 2.
