Now I see the reason for putting out xo a week before fcbd.

People have xo on the shelf, people buy it. Along comes free comic book day, they read valiants free edition - come back and ask for xo.

But we have a problem xo has sold out. Needs to have it on shelves to sell more. It has sold out at 42 ooo I am surprised but happy.

Anyone reading fcbd wanting xo will go without. Unless second printing.

Supply demand, if out of stock people want it more. This needs to be on the shelf to get more readers. Hope valiant gets it out their and more people have a chance to read it.

I've never really noticed it in other comics, though I am sure it is always there, but at the bottom of the inside page it says in BOLD letters, "First Printing". It drew my eye right to it. Almost like they are sending a message

They aren't going to need a second print. All the shops who are out can reorder from Ed (paradise), and my local shop. Unless FCBD goes REALLY well at those two stores...

The only difference on the second printing of the X-O 1:50 cover will be the QR code. The buyer takes a picture of the new code, holds it over the mouth in the appropriate area and the voice of Aric intones "Fool! You should have bought it when it first came out!" and then he blows a raspberry at the viewer.

I can verify that Big Apple Comics in Amarillo sold out of X-O Manowar.

There weren't any at Hastings on Georgia (the big one) but I am not sure how many they stocked.

However I have an odd question - It was my understanding that the PULLBOX variant was meant to be for the fans (a fan incentive so-to-speak) yet my LCS wants to charge me 10 bucks for it and everyone else who has a sub because it is a "variant". I thought the whole premise of this variant was for my sub and not for the retailer. Did I miss something or has my LCS?

Saw a bunch of XO issues on the racks today. Like 30 in one section and 60 by the entrance. The Aja cover was $15 and the XO mouf cover was $30:





I was surprised at the volume they ordered and that they were still on the racks. The store was packed with over 200 people waiting for free comics. Luckily I spotted some other rare variants when no one was interested in buying and were just there for the FCBD books.

That is a steal for the X-O QR cover, you should go back and buy it and flip it on eBay, they are going for at least double that.

went to a local shop for FCBD. They had a ton of the Valiant FCBD book, but when I looked on the shelf for the actual X-O #1, they had none. I asked the guys at the counter and they did manage to find one (the pullbox variant) on their "endcap", which I assume was a display of the newly released books. I asked how many they ordered to be sold out so quickly and they said they only ordered five copies. Their words were "We didn't think it would sell". This was a little disappointing as this is an excellent shop and is the biggest shop in the Reading, PA area, which is a fairly good sized town.

Went for FCBD and they still had plenty of X-O (probably 15 or so). I did notice at least two guys walking around with copies before I left, though, and everyone seemed to be grabbing the Valiant FCBD.

My LCS was out of both the FCBD issue AND X-O #1 today by the time I got there. Of course, they were almost out of X-O #1 on Wednesday at 11 AM, but I was hoping to snag a FCBD issue today.

The shop I ordered my X-O copies is now sold out of #1 issues.

Of course they only had 4 copies for the shelf so yes they are gone.

Probably should have. I saw at least 3 qr copies there. I just wanted out of there since it was a packed place and it was 95 degrees waiting in line. I kept seeing parents fighting with their kids causing a scene in the store. That was hilarious. Nerdy loud parents fighting with their nerdy kids.

I went by a place, they ordered 80 books (40 and 40), they had like 5-7 left of each one. Dude told me that he re-ordered 20 more.

I was in Richmond, VA, for work on Friday. Stopped in at Dave's Comics and they were sold out of X-O. (Bought some 70s Marvels instead).

I finally picked my copy up today. They had 8 regular and 7 pull-box. The owner bought 50 copies. 30 of them were for subscribbers. Of the other 20 only 5 have sold. We talked about it a little and we are both confused. He is going to try a promotion to get the word out.

Forgot to mention, the owner set aside a 1:20 for me for cover price and also set aside the FCBD preview, because I am the Valiant guy. Very cool guy.
