Wow, that is a bunch of variants!

My shop had three copies left of the regular edition #1 the last time I was there which was the 24th.

That's kind of what I'm worried about. I think the second print is only there because some shops under ordered, but it seems like there are more than enough copies floating around of the first print for everyone who wants one to get it.

That's probably true of every DC New 52 book... and some of those are up to 4th prints.

The problem is that there isn't a comprehensive network of shops who buy and sell each other's overstock.
There's a single distributor who's sold out of X-O #1 first prints, who is now offering a second print.

It's similar to the log truck problem.

Anyone know what the print run is on the "Pullbox Variant"? 40% percent of the 42,000 print run? 30%?

This shop went all in and looks like they pre-ordered 50/50 on both covers instead of more on just the regular cover.

I'd guess that most shops - especially ones that went for fifty - did exactly that.

The people I bought one cover for then returned for the other one.

I'm guessing the "pullbox variant" is closer to 50/50 than anything else. I don't think any retailer was going to limit it to only pullbox orders.

Just curious, are you figuring that it's about 40% or is that known now?

I ran the numbers: 24,000 regular, 16,000 pullbox, 2,000 Aja, 800 QR by Dinesh and was told that they were good estimates.

Oh yeah, I saw the estimates. I just wasn't aware they had been "verified". Very good to know.

Hopefully, as the story takes off and gathers some steam, buyers will pick up the #1s left sitting on the shelf as the also purchase #2 and #3...

I check every time I go into my lcs and guess what!... When I went in for my comics this afternoon they had sold their final copy of X-O Manowar #1! They sold it sometime between Saturday and today.

My store still has a 4th print copy (as well as a copy of Harbinger #1 Pullbox), in the same spot, for the last 2 months...
But it's in Europe, and we don't count for the market.

Valiant #1's are easily found in the stores around Halifax, Nova Scotia, but cant find any Shadowman 1 with the blackout cover.

mine sell out on the day every time.
Shame they are not smart enough to order more each time. Quite simple thing to do ( i used to manage a comic shop). I would make it happen. No comic = no sale.

Went to DEAD universe comics / AKA Draco's shop. He is buying off ebay USA to supply demand for valiant as he cannot get enough of a he new valiant to supply customers.

Now that is pushing valiant hard core, buying bulk valiant back issue to supply customers with NO profit margin.

absolutly, 6 of em' but you couldnt find them after the week it came out.
