Thanks, the fabric should be easy to find—dark red seersucker cloth from Hobby Lobby. My only trick was using the reverse side which happens to look more like woven chain-mail. In person, the material looks even better!Malev_Emperor wrote:Sanman,
Your Valiant Megos are tremendous! PLEASE tell me what kind of fabric you used for that Magnus "Battle Tunic" (I won't call it a skirt)!! I have been worrying about what type of fabric to use and it appears as if yours has that chain-mail/armored look! Quite inspiring!

Re: Valiant Comics Custom Action Figures Picture Thread
Thread resurrection time!
I have just received a DC Universe Classics "DeSaad" figure in a trade and I am going to be reworking it into a Spylocke figure from "Rai and the Future Force". I know that RATFF gets almost NO love here, but if you go back and re-read it, it's really pretty well done. Ostrander had some good plot threads going through the Malev War run and I loved it!
I'm going to have to paint his hands, legs and boots, get a DCUC "Bronze Tiger" head (for when he feels like showing his face), find a cool in-scale weapons belt and get an appropriate sci-fi gun, but soon he will be ready for battle! Thankfully his cloak is already purple!
After Spylocke, I will be making a Rai (Takao Konishi) and then making a Malev War diorama!
*: I MS Painted out the figures face so he appears faceless like he did for most of the run.

Re: Valiant Comics Custom Action Figures Picture Thread
I'm hoping this winter to make a Faith custom figure. but I'd much rather have a store bought one. I think the new Game of Throne toys by Funko are pretty great, the details to the costumes. they are articulated but also look amazing in statue poses, so it's the best of both worlds. they are a little flimsy, I had a hand break off trying to twist it, and another has an elbow joint that won't move, and the Hound can't get his sword in his hand, at least the one I have...but still, I think they would make great Valiant toys. but I don't know if Faith would make wave one of the line...
I <3 Faith!!!
