What comics are you reading now?

Everything else comic-related that's not VALIANT-related.

Saga? Need more info.
The new Brian K Vaughan book that came out today. It's his first truly creator owned book which is being released by Image and his first work since Ex Machina ended. It's an ongoing. 44 story pages, no ads for $2.99

It's a sci-fantasy, which both aren't really genres I like, but you can see he is building a Star Wars sort of world in the first issue alone. Great stuff.

It's the best first issue I've read since Chew #1.
Read it today, courtesy of Iggy. I think I want to get #2. The character The Will and his cat have me intrigued.
"LIAR!" Loved that bit.

That was a good part.

Do you think #2 will be ad free as well?

I don't know, but I hope it will be ad-lite. I don't expect most books to be free of them, but I don't like having every 3rd page be one, either. It was a very nice change of pace that I didn't realize until AFTER I had finished it.

xodacia81 wrote:The New Deadwardians # 1: Very cool concept. Read quickly, but that's not a complaint. The art is stylish. Script by Dan Abbnett.

Green Lantern-The New Guardians # 7: The "supposed" origin of Invictus. A transitory issue. This series is certainly working in the grey areas, and that's a good thing.

Aquaman # 7: An appearance by an old foe, a monster storm and the return of Dr. Shin...but, who are "The Others?" The dawn of a new arc begins. Another fun issue, if a little slight, this time out.

The Flash # 7: This could be the start of something tremendous or that of something terrible. Not sure which. As a fan of post-COIE Flash, I'm really hoping some of the events are reversable.

Saga # 1: Well, that was different. I think this one is going to take a few issues to get going, but I'm in for at least the next 2. I want to see how it develops and which approach Vaughn decides to take. The art is a little odd, at first, but I think it fits.
How so?

If you've read it, I just hope it isn't indicative of a new, easy fallback of "oops. Well, ok...I'll just chance a wormhole and....oh, damn....well, I must face the consequences." That could become a very tired cycle. As to the current, immediate story...Iris better be fine.

Is anyone else reading that new book from image about thieves? I forget the name. LCS guy recommended and I liked the first issue enough to buy the second which came out recently. Bought it, but haven't read it yet.

Thief of Thieves. It was better than I expected, but will probably read better as a trade.

The stories while not being overly simplistic, nor buried in subplots were/are very straightforward and just flow - makes for good bubblegum for the brain.

That and I love stupid Hulk - He's the best

I enjoyed the first two issues of Thief of Thieves, enough to continue the title.

Yeah, Thief of Thieves. Just finished the second issue and I'm finding it to be intriguing. It seems a little disjointed at times, but I think he's trying to lay a large foundation for something epic.

I read the last two issues of Incredible Hulk with Whilce Portacio art...I liked last month's issue, but this month stuff "wrapped up" too neatly with Dr Doom and Whilce's art seemed very rushed. Don't think I'll be continuing with it.
