Cast the Comics
I don't know what to call this topic... or where this topic is, if already addressed...
But if you could cast the characters from Valiant, who would you choose?
I saw a commercial for Sons of Anarchy and one of the actors struck me as a Aric-y type person...
The Hubby & I also really likes this guy from the 13th Warrior (if he was still young!)

Re: Cast the Comics
Charlie Hunnam is a fairly good actor, pretty good choice. I think I heard he was in the running for Thor and since Hemsworth is probably out of the running, I like it.
What we need is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling, in a word, entertainment. -- Jim Shooter

Re: Cast the Comics
My wife and I had this discussion too. For the "if they were younger" file, we came up with Sean Bean and Brian Blessed.
I got the chance to as Robert Venditti, the writer of the book, who he would think would play Aric well in a movie. He said he would get back to me and when he did he said Taylor Kitsch. Kind of an odd choice but after watching John Carter yesterday I still don't know if I can see it.
Charlie Hunnam looks the part and is probably about the right age.

Re: Cast the Comics
I could totally see Taylor Kitsch play this new version of Aric. Not the original Aric from VH1, though.
I'm a big fan of Sons Of Anarchy and Charlie Hunnam is a great actor. But I'd personally like to see him as Green Arrow in a Justice League film.

What? Did I miss some news? What are you talking about? Last I heard, Chris Hemsworth is still Thor for the Thor 2 just like he was in the first Thor and The Avengers.Zaphod wrote:Charlie Hunnam is a fairly good actor, pretty good choice. I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Man that is so wack! I looked up CAST! and Movies in the search box-- bc I really didn't want to start another thread.....
someone really should get that fixed--
but I looked up Taylor Kitsch... mmm... I don't see him as Aric.
Torque? sure

no news. My sentence structure is often a mess. What I was meaning to say is, since Hemsworth is Thor, he probably wouldn't be interested in being X-O.Heath wrote:I could totally see Taylor Kitsch play this new version of Aric. Not the original Aric from VH1, though.

Then again if The Human Torch and Captain America can be the same person...

What is a googles Star Trek Doodle? As long as it is real Star Trek and not the 2009 fanfic crap, I might geek out over it.missjay wrote:Anyone else geek out over googles Star Trek Doodle?

I never did take to the Gorn. They are one of the few races on Star Trek that bug me more than humans.
Edit - nevermind, I cracked the code. That is pretty cool.

Yeah, should change it to "Cast the CLASSIC Valiant Universe". I'm all for starting again for the new VUMarkRoseHFX wrote:That thread was before we really saw the new books anyway so it's a much different perspective now.missjay wrote:Man that is so wack! That being said, I still like Anton Yelchin for Pete Stanchek and Jesse Williams for Jack Boniface. Gonna be thinking about some of the others now...Bloodshot is a tough one, as are the new A&A...also need to see Gilad and Ivar more.
I like the choice for Aric, MissJay

Re: Cast the Comics
I really should be doing something else.
The hubby and I can't think of someone for Bloodshot....
So I am throwing out ideas... I've never seen these guys act... I'm just saying they look like Bloodshot.
here's the first one... if he beefed up a little.
Liam Mcintyre
(just having photoshop fun)
or Dominic Purcell, but he may be a little too old? And Beefy.. .

Re: Cast the Comics
Skarsgard is pretty good, but Charlie Hunnan all the way me thinks.
I can't get beyond Torque's Patrick Swayze 80s hair, it'll be interesting to see his new look. I always thought of him as kind of a *SQUEE*, and man was I disappointed in Kris for ever hooking up with ape drape.
What about Karl Urban? He's getting up there, but he's sci-fi action man and could easily be an older, supporting cast member.

Re: Cast the Comics
Did anybody watch Snow White & The Huntsman? I was struck by how much Hemsworth looks exactly like Aric as drawn by Lee Garbett. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Lee was using that imagery for reference... (sorry, I can't really get some images up for comparison, I'm posting via iPhone at the moment).
I know Hemsworth is committed to Thor/Avengers for a while but he'd still be my top choice for Aric.

Re: Cast the Comics
well EX-SOA member...poor timing too.
I choose Skarsgard additionally since he is a native Swede and though it's not Celtic, he'd manage the accent easily enough.
Hunnam is not tall enough, imo.
