Shadowman Blackout Cover Sellouts
VEI is reporting on their twitter and Facebook accounts that they have received sellout reports for the Blackout cover. I am guessing an announcement for a sell out of Shadowman #1 will be coming in the near future.
On a related not, I typed "Valiant" into Google yesterday and the first thing to come up in the drop-box was "Valiant Shadowman". Means the book is getting a lot of searches and reflects the interest in the title.

You mean a book with an eye-catching, unconventional cover sold out?
Makes me wonder what woulda happened with the QR covers. Or that ballpoint pen cover....

Agreed. I'd like to see them try the QR cover as a regular or order all. Master Darque maybe? Armstrong? I'd buy that.Blood of Heroes wrote:You mean a book with an eye-catching, unconventional cover sold out?

Re: Shadowman Blackout Cover Sellouts
I know that my LCS was completely sold out of both covers (apart from ones he'd pulled for customers) by the time I got there Wednesday afternoon.
This post has been approved by the Harbinger Foundation.

Re: Shadowman Blackout Cover Sellouts
My pull-box LCS said that Shadowman has been better received than all of the other Valiant titles so far, and all he has left at the moment is one blackout variant, although he has a few more of at least the regular first issue scheduled for delivery this week from Diamond.
He said that overall the line has been slow at his store, with Harbinger leading the way in sales over all other titles.

I'm not a fan of these types of covers because they drive up the price tags. I would buy them though if I had unlimited funds.

The 2nd, 3rd, etc. books are also cover price...when you can find them on the shelves.

The important thing will be how many they have priced at $10 each when you go back next time.jedimarley wrote:Shop I went to today has 10 of the black cover priced $10 each.

Mine had five left - at cover - but all of them were shelf worn (that I left behind)

Re: Shadowman Blackout Cover Sellouts
I saw no blackouts at Midtown east this afternoon, at cover or otherwise. They had the other one and it looked like one of the 1:20 Johnson cover for $20 or $25.

Re: Shadowman Blackout Cover Sellouts
I plan on hitting the Times Square shop tomorrow. (Wanted to get there today, but work kinda cut into my whole day.) Will report then, but they had a bunch when I was there last Friday. It's still availabel online: http://www.midtowncomics.com/store/sear ... =shadowman" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;mrwoogieman wrote:I saw no blackouts at Midtown east this afternoon, at cover or otherwise. I wonder if it's a cookie thing, or if it's site-wide: what are you guys seeing as far as banner ads?: http://www.midtowncomics.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Shadowman Blackout Cover Sellouts
Just dropped by the Midtown in Times Square, and didn't see any Shadowman #1s (except the 1:20 variant). I didn't look specifically for it, but I did look at the shelf a bit trying to find A&A #4.

The shop I just went to had a bunch. There were a few 9.4 - 9.6 copies, nothing that would make 9.8.
These are still widely and cheaply available on ebay.

Finally got my books for this week today - saw 12 copies of the blackout, the front one was reeeaaally beaten up so people are checking it out. Only 5 copies of the regular cover left.
