Re: *VEI LENDING LIBRARY PROJECT - @ PITTSBURG, PA - SIGN UP
Any possibility for Donor's to contribute volumes to the lending library? I'd be happy to purchase an extra copy of a future tpb and donate to the lending library. ( just offering)

Re: *VEI LENDING LIBRARY PROJECT - @ PITTSBURG, PA - SIGN UP
Well officially pencil me in to donate Harbinger Wars tpb and Harbinger vol 3 tpb ( since it comes out next week). I'll have to set up a way to ship these off for the Library project, but I'd love to make my contribution as a " pass it on" type of good mojo.

Re: *VEI LENDING LIBRARY PROJECT - @ PITTSBURG, PA - SIGN UP
The Library was mailed today, so hopefully they will arrive in Pittsburgh by this Thursday the 19th.
Must say again, really enjoyed this experience, catching up on the whole range of the Valiant Universe. Also, got to personalize the books somewhat by signing the backs and adding some (hopefully) cool messages in some books. Overall, I would highly recommend this project to any reader, current or new.
Being new myself, I was most impressed by X-O. Probably Valiant's most famous classic character, I wasn't sure how I would like Aric, but my fears were unfounded. Vendetti does an excellent job with this title and character and Nord's art is outstanding. My only quibble would be Ninjak. If you don't already have any background knowledge of Ninjak (which I don't), then you really don't learn anything about him other than he is a super-secret, super-assassin. His real name wasn't even mentioned (Colin....King, is it?)
Harbinger was excellent, the Renegades arc was tremendous. Strong female characters like Kris, Charlene, and especially Faith are sorely needed in the industry today and they are shining examples of how to achieve that.
A+A was funny and full of action. I thought Gilad's introduction was handled better than Ninjak's intro, loved seeing the brothers' relationship on display. And Kay the Geomancer is another wonderful addition to the Valiant's diverse female cast.
Bloodshot....I do like Bloodshot, the mysteries of his background and search for his identity are intriguing (the way PRS manipulated him on these missions, unbelievable). But my only nitpick is the sometimes gratuitous level of ultra-violence. Maybe it's due to his being able to survive almost any type of injury or damage, that's why they go to the extremes to showcase this ability, but there were a few instances where I found it off-putting and unsettling. I don't mind the violence in general (with a character of this nature, it's to be expected) but sheesh, the Bleeding Monk doesn't lose as much blood as Bloodshot does in these two volumes.
As for Shadowman.....I dunno. Good intro for the character, Jack learning of his legacy, the intro of 'magic' and it's effects, but I never got any real feel for what Shadowman's capabilities are, other than wielding a nasty scythe. Since Jack 'changes' into Shadowman, to me, that makes him a super-hero. In contrast, Stephen Strange doesn't have to put on the red cloak to become Dr. Strange. John Constatine doesn't have to put on the trenchcoat to become Hellblazer. I understand now the hazy direction that was everyone was discussing about this title.
Hope you don't mind the mini-thoughts and reviews, but the Library was really fun.

Re: *VEI LIBRARY PROJECT NOW @ SAN ANTONIO, TX - SIGN UP NOW
WOOHOO!!!
I got the Valiant Lending Library last Saturday, as I mentioned in another thread, but yesterday another package showed up containing Harbinger Volume Three and Harbinger Wars. Sure, that means I gotta do more reviews but it also means I get to do more reading. So it balances out. Plus, it turns out that I'm the first one to get his hands on these since I let AnthonyF go ahead of me. Good things come to those who wait.
Thanks, Aomalle27. You rock!
Here, have a taco.

Great! We've actually had to give priority to some lenders because of being part of Round #2.

Re: *VEI LIBRARY PROJECT NOW @ SAN ANTONIO, TX - SIGN UP NOW
I was told today that I am next in the Lending Library! FINALLY, I can catch up on this new universe!
Is there a suggested reading order of the TPBs? I want the tale to unfold as it should!

I'm going to have to do some research on what order these new books were released in... any hints?
*EDIT* - I found the original publication release order, so this will help!
