X-O Robot Fighter COMPLETE!
here is a fan comic written by me before the Armor Hunters series started, with pencils on the first four pages by Dennis Wheeler, inking by Eric Dotson, and coloring by William MacLellan. Dennis named the robot SA-10, which was his plot assist. William deserves a plot credit for two ideas on the last page of the book, which I won't spoil here. This started with Dennis wanting to do a book, a page or two a week for Fan Art Friday, but life got in the way and he was only able to do a page every 5 or 6 weeks, so William took over and did an incredible job! This was a lot of fun and I think chapter three comes together really well. hope you enjoy it! Bloodshot is next!!
THANKS EVERYONE FOR READING!! And it was William's idea to have the Armorines on Dr. Yielding's screen and to make the futuristic robot I wrote SA-10 building as an actual Malev, which I thought was super cool!!
Bloodshot coming soon!!

A cbz is a compressed rar or zip file for easy download to be read in a comic reader, sounds cool!jkingman wrote:sure. I have no idea what that means, but it's fine with melorddunlow wrote:You care if I put it together as a cbz and post it here?

Awesome job guys! Is it weird that when I read it in my head I use the voice of Dr. Noonian Soong for the scientist?

That's awesome. Perhaps subconsciously I had Dr. Soong in mind when drawing him, it is a possibility as a long time (32 years) Trek nerd.Sir Sandrick wrote:Awesome job guys! Is it weird that when I read it in my head I use the voice of Dr. Noonian Soong for the scientist?

Re: X-O Robot Fighter COMPLETE!
seeing the comic together like this, there are a few parts that could be smoother, things could be clearer...did anyone have problems while reading it? any tips or advice or things that were confusing or moments that sounded out of character or moments that you really liked?
any comments would help a lot It is my dream to work for Valiant. In 2006 I bought someone's Valiant collection (mine had early gaps and a lot of later issues missing) and man, I was so excited about the characters again, and had tons of ideas for stories. I was shocked to find Harbinger and X-O on the shelves of my comic store when the relaunch happened, and have been writing stories for Kindle Worlds.
I'm sure Marrow wouldn't mind comments about his art, us artist types tend to like feedback, both the good and the bad. Anyone have a favorite cover or panel? There are tons of amazing moments, in my opinion. And the Bloodshot story is looking red hot!
thanks again everyone! we had fun doing it and I learned a lot about making comics. I think the third chapter reads the best. The good skin joke might be my favorite moment. I thought Aric had a few good lines too... but I don't want to come off sounding like my own biggest fan

Re: X-O Robot Fighter COMPLETE!
While not the first comic I've ever drawn (I've drawn over 1000 since I started drawing in 1984) It is the first I've pencilled, colored, inked and lettered to completion with a cohesive story (At best I'm a mediocre writer) So I'm pretty proud of the work I did on this one. The Bloodshot story is looking great too, so many weird character monsters to draw! Very Freaky, and brutal, it's gonna rock too.

Re: X-O Robot Fighter COMPLETE!
A fun read - and wow, this is a mega-ton of work on display here, guys! Marrowman is an art machine!
I'll come back with some more constructive criticism for you if you want, Jake. I'll just say this for now: the story is actually almost too compressed. I realize it's a fan project, and already a ton of work went into it, but some scenes do feel a little tightly packed. Giving it a few more pages here & there might help with the pacing.
Also, I love the idea you had at the end where a tendril of Shanhara shoots off to snake through SA-10. I'd like to see something like that in the official XO book. I also really liked the narrative voice you gave SA-1

Re: X-O Robot Fighter COMPLETE!
thanks! And I do agree, we decided on 8 page chapters for no real reason, and things got crammed in. I think two 22 page issues would've worked better. we did expand things in the last chapter, stretched it to 10 pages. but that's perfect, just the kind of criticism I want to hear, and I welcome moregrendeljd wrote:A fun read - and wow, this is a mega-ton of work on display here, guys! And I'm pretty sure Marrow had the idea for that death, I gave a few options, but I think he came up with that on his own.
