Re: Gold Key back at Valiant?
I would think there would have to be some change that has occurred, because while Twitter is mostly informal, one would think the CEO of a company tweeting the image of another company's IP in a tweet to create buzz for his company that would be legally shaky ground. It gives me hope that something has legally changed at least as far as using the old VH1 Turok goes at the very least.

Re: Gold Key back at Valiant?
This could seriously wrong but ,(1) "Cant wait" could be something about the Turok #1 gold sometime in the future.(2)or it could mean VEI has rights over GK3 properties and Dino cant wait until the line is produced.I am hoping it is (2) personally.
If I just can't be me ,and the Arrow isn't enough.. then maybe I should be Ra's al Ghul

Why is this in the 'Published Issues Discussion' section instead of in General?

Technically, it should have been in GD, but since we already have three threads there now, I really don't see the need to move this one and add another.lorddunlow wrote:Because Turok #1 was published?? Is thread merge a viable option?Daniel Jackson wrote:Technically, it should have been in GD, but since we already have three threads there now, I really don't see the need to move this one and add another.lorddunlow wrote:Because Turok #1 was published?? DreamWorks Animation also owns the Defiant and Broadway characters, and I would want VEI to buy those as well.omega_override wrote:Interesting, it would be great if Valiant could somehow own Turok outrightBugsySig wrote:Hmmm....they did drop the Savage tease a while back, then nothing...now this.
Interesting it's just Turok teased and not Solar or Magnus...remember the speculation over ownership rights post Random House/Classic Media split and then the DreamWorks purchase of Classic? The research I did suggested Turok may be owned outright by DreamWorks, while the other two were not.
On a related note, Dreamworks lost almost $300 million last quarter and are preparing to sell their huge California complex.
Selling the rights to Turok and/or the GK3 might just be a drop in the bucket for DreamWorks, but that bucket ain't exactly overflowing at the moment

Well if you want to give Jim Shooter an anurism, I think that would do the trick.John Pannozzi wrote:DreamWorks Animation also owns the Defiant and Broadway characters, and I would want VEI to buy those as well.omega_override wrote:Interesting, it would be great if Valiant could somehow own Turok outrightBugsySig wrote:Hmmm....they did drop the Savage tease a while back, then nothing...now this.

Forget about Shooter, I had an anurism when I found out Dreamworks had the rights to Rocky & BullwinkleBugsySig wrote: Well if you want to give Jim Shooter an anurism, I think that would do the trick.

Technically, Jay Ward's family owns Bullwinkle, DWA is just the licensing agent.omega_override wrote:Forget about Shooter, I had an anurism when I found out Dreamworks had the rights to Rocky & BullwinkleBugsySig wrote: Well if you want to give Jim Shooter an anurism, I think that would do the trick.

Maybe that's the way Dreamworks addresses their shortfall; merge the three into a single universe and make movies.John Pannozzi wrote:DreamWorks Animation also owns the Defiant and Broadway characters, and I would want VEI to buy those as well.omega_override wrote:Interesting, it would be great if Valiant could somehow own Turok outrightBugsySig wrote:Hmmm....they did drop the Savage tease a while back, then nothing...now this.

Re: Gold Key back at Valiant?
I wouldn't see why that would be a problem. It's not like new material is being created or sold without permission, nor were there any explicit or even implicit claims made.lorddunlow wrote:I would think there would have to be some change that has occurred, because while Twitter is mostly informal, one would think the CEO of a company tweeting the image of another company's IP in a tweet to create buzz for his company that would be legally shaky ground.
