Who created the character of Spylocke?

Post by Malev_Emperor »

Valiant Ones,

I realize that most of you abhor the Future Force, but as I was re-reading some old issues of Rai, I wondered who created this character? Was is John Ostrander (who first wrote him in Rai #9) or someone else? Does anyone have any idea who decided to put an african american spider alien anti-hero into the Future Force title?

How can an alien be "African-American"?

He was genetically engineered to have the appearance of an african american human. That's how.

Also like the old-school spider aliens, we can tell this because Joakim Noah only has four fingers on each hand, a non-human skeleton, and a dumb expression on his face at all times. :thumb:

The spider aliens created Spylocke :P .I liked how he dressed even if it was kind of what Desaad wore.
I-Only judge porn by the cover.

He was engineered to have the appearance of someone whose heritage could be traced to one continent but who lived in a country that effectively no longer existed?

He was one of the better characters to come out of the Future Force period.

Yes, I very much enjoyed the character of Spylocke, who was a mystery for most of the run of Rai. Then, he was revealed to be a Spider Alien, yet Rai still protected and trusted him. He said that Rai was the only human he could ever call a friend and trained Rai's son in combat.

He is an intriguing character and I know that there is a new Spylocke in the current Rai series. I'm just wondering if it was Ostrander who created him or someone else?
