I believe I've heard those numbers as well. Definitely 150 of the signed version. I wish I would've gone for that one.caxiotis wrote: I did not put it up. I am still thinking about it. Like you said I am sure I would regret selling it and want it back. I keep looking at completed listings on ebay and they are going for $300ish, and for that price I would rather keep it.
Also, there are no second printings of TWD Omnibus's. There were just 150 signed and I want to say 1000 to 1500 printed of the first one. I can't be sure about that number, but I think I read that somewhere. I know there were 300 signed of the second omnibus and I pretty sure 3000 printed.

Follow up: I just discovered the more recent Birds of Prey 123 & 124 which have a follow-up Joker/Oracle confrontation. These issues are still rather new (2009 release) and can currently be found on the cheap.StarBrand wrote:Judging by the cover I'd say Suicide Squad 49 ties into the same story.Mycomicshop has surrounding issues at around 2-3.00 ea, but is out of Suicide Squad 48 and 49. Mile High is out of both issues as well. I wouldn't mind reading these.

Spoiler Alert: Interestingly at the start of issue 123 Joker doesn't recognize Barbara Gordon...of course later....

This copy of X-23: Target X sold for 13.29 recently. I don't see any copies on eBay live right now. Mile High and mycomicshop are both out of it.

Some Amory Wars stuff from Image is doing well. Here's an example.
This copy is described as VF 8.0 and sold for 24.99.

weird, #1 of this series doesn't appear to be in that big of demand, but #2 seems to be the one worth money.StarBrand wrote:Some Amory Wars stuff from Image is doing well. Here's an example.

I start to get the shakes when we talk about books that arent out being hot etc, reminding me of darker days.StarBrand wrote:This link was posted at The Davis Report.

I also dont see much call for these books shortly after the initila rush even if they are hot, cos the subject matter cannot maintain the interest and it certainly can't grow.
one for the short term investors who like to speculate and a small gamble, but anything beyond that is controlled by forces that we cannot fathom, or we could all get rich of these type of books.
Of course now that the book in the link is being shown as one to watch the few copies on the few shelves will now be sold real fast and then sold onto the next speculator in the line and so on, almost feels like price fixing if you know what i mean.

You could be right.Draco wrote:almost feels like price fixing if you know what i mean.StarBrand wrote:This link was posted at The Davis Report.

Good call.
Ebay was not as big in the speculator days. Was it called something else back then?
It seems all hot comics die after a few months. Everyone looking for the next big thing.
But not remembering their is less fans buying the orginal comic format.
OK, their has been walking dead. And a few others. This is not the early 90's with millions buying comics, and missed a new release that skyrocketed ~ and now I can get in the .25 p bin.
It is the few ten s of thousands. It is like the stock market. Were their is physical and accountable factors to invest in ~ as well as speculators.
It is a comic book, if you like it buy it. IF lots of people buy it, and sells out. Supply demand ~ sell straight away. Do not buy ~ buy latter when their is not so much demand.
When all the people buying to sell have lost their money ~ buy maybe above cover but not at peak time.
Prime example
Batman Robin swear version. That was read hot ~ it was molten, now, prices are reasonable.

I dont mean price fixing as in a bunch of guys getting together here and attempting to manipulate the market ( though lets face it stranger things have happened), i meant it has a similar feel to the old dark days, when people were telling us that books were hot and the price would be $$$$$ before they were published.StarBrand wrote:You could be right.Draco wrote:almost feels like price fixing if you know what i mean.StarBrand wrote:This link was posted at The Davis Report.

Here i see people looking for that next hot thing, but you cant know till the actual public demand is in, which is basically what my main gripe is on these issues.
I understand folks might wanna try and be ahead of the game, but when you try too hard you end up pigeon holeing things in the wrong places and eventually it goes wrong and costs someone.

Good read on things.Draco wrote:I dont mean price fixing as in a bunch of guys getting together here and attempting to manipulate the market ( though lets face it stranger things have happened), i meant it has a similar feel to the old dark days, when people were telling us that books were hot and the price would be $$$$$ before they were published.StarBrand wrote:You could be right.Draco wrote:almost feels like price fixing if you know what i mean.StarBrand wrote:This link was posted at The Davis Report.

The description is weird. Is this the Coheed and Cambria comic? If so, that's why it's big money.Brother J wrote:weird, #1 of this series doesn't appear to be in that big of demand, but #2 seems to be the one worth money.StarBrand wrote:Some Amory Wars stuff from Image is doing well. I tried to read the previews for Skullkickers. Although the art is eye catching, I couldn't force myself to read it. It doesn't strike me as something with appeal nor longevity.StarBrand wrote:This link was posted at The Davis Report.
