- Sean brings up Longbox digital comics, which leads into a discussion of digital comics in general. Sides are chosen. Lines are drawn. Some of us are all for digital distribution of comics, some of us will chop off thier left hand before switching to digital comics
- Average Joe, striking fear into the heart of criminals as Batman, talks about the distribution of comics, and we talk about ways that this art form that we all love could grow and flourish in the future, and get into the hands (and hearts) of the general public.
- Chiclo brings back the fun and guides us through some good old geeky discussion of comic book villains. We choose our favorites, and talk about this whole "anti-hero" thing that seems to be all the rage with super villains these days.
- As always, we have tons of witty banter, and never miss a moment to give each other a hard time and crack a joke.

I just bought a mess of new recording equipment so that we can record at the convention and have it actually sound good. We will have some stuff for you reporting on San Diego Comic-Con. Not sure if we'll be able to record EVERY day, but we'll record more than once, that's for sure.
Now I just need to make hundreds of dollars flipping convention exclusives so I can pay for all this stuff.

We're recording all weekend at San Diego Comic-Con
Episode 30: SDCC Preview Night, we come to you from the Tilted Kilt where a bunch of folks from these forums congregated for a night of beer and comic geekery. I walked around with my digital recorder to hear everybody's thoughts on Preview Night.
Episode 31: SDCC Thursday Conversation. Sean and Average Joe are joined by our apartment mate Scott to talk about Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con. Scott is the co-founder of Resolution Comics, an up and coming independent publisher, so we discuss what it has taken to start a label, and the rewards of making comics.

Good episode. Honestly, I was surprised that 2/3 of the podcast crew sounded pessimistic as to the future of VEI while Sean holds on to more than likely unrealistic hopes and dreams.
Buttery nipples' take on the Valiant properties being used by DH still makes the most sense to me. Producing the equivalent of one comic in 4 years is not that super.

I may have to pre-screen the butteryness in future episodes
Yes, I am optimistic. I think that the future is bright for Valiant, but that the tunnel is longer than people thought or expected.
I'm glad that the three of us disagree, the whole point is for us to discuss, not just agree with each other.

I agree with another of your points.
I too would be more excited about a VEI Valiant Universe relaunch WITHOUT Solar, Magnus, and Turok, than a Solar, Magnus, and Turok relaunch without the rest of the Valiant Universe.
what that means for me is...... I like the Valiant Universe without Solar, Magnus, and Turok BETTER than stories about Solar, Magnus, and Turok without the Valiant Universe.
I also agree, after the conception of Universe and Unity, I thought Solar was a boring character, he had played his part. While I did like Magnus, I was more interested in the now: the Harby kids, Shadowman, Gilly, Arm, Archer, Aric, Toyo, Darque.
Just my opinion.

For me, I like the overall universe as a setting for stories that allow these characters to interact. I like when their interaction shapes the overall direction of the universe.Elveen wrote:I also agree, after the conception of Universe and Unity, I thought Solar was a boring character, he had played his part.
