The last I heard Larry Marder was working at Image Comics. He did revive Tales of the Beanworld in the 90s. He did new stories in color that were serialized in Maximum Press' Asylum, which was Rob Liefeld's attempt at a anthology. Aside from the Beanworld stories that series wasn't very memorable. But yeah I have always been a huge Tales of the Beanworld. I'm only missing a couple issues and 18 was one of them. A great read if you ever happen to find them. It lived up to the critical yet cult acclaim it received in the 80s.

I even made the one in the snow storm back in January! Unfortuantely I'll have to sit out the June 17th-18th show as I'll be on tour with my band! But I'll definitely be going to the National in September.
I've met CKB before and was able to get some great looking books from him. I'd love to meet up with you or any other forum members that attend this show in the future.
hehehe. i'll do my best to heed your warning

can't we all just share? I'm sure CKB won't mind!

Yeah you're right, now that you mention it, I have a couple of those issues. There have been published two tpbs of the original series (book one & two), though I have book one, I have never come across book two yet.mike rok lok wrote:The last I heard Larry Marder was working at Image Comics. This book (at least graded at 9.4 and 9.6) has been taking a little slide lately.GGSAE wrote:I just got a 9.6 graded harbinger pink for 42.00. Not bad considering the last one went for 56 and just before that a 9.4 went for 66.
It's strange. People will pay 50-70 for a raw copy of this book from seller who may not know how to grade, yet pass up a cgc'd 9.6 for the same or lower amount of money. Guess they are hoping that the raw copy will be a real beaut. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Mmm hmmm...
One of the very, very few killer deals I've ever gotten on eBay.
Book is a dead VF/NM. It's so cherry, the SPINE edge hasn't lost any color. It's an incredible book! WOW!

This is one I needed. Saves me the trouble.

I also picked up a Rai 2 9.8 from the same seller, but for over market value. I didn't wan't to lose another one, and I have had a really hard time finding raw 9.8 candidates of this book. I've even had a hard time getting them in any sort of quantity to try.

I have been picking up 9.6 books from this seller for about 20 each. I got a 9.4 Solar 10 for 14.99. Which I think was a great deal as well.ckb wrote:This is one I needed. Saves me the trouble.

I got totally, totally lucky. I think I'd had a snipe of $15 in, which is the most I'd pay for a F/VF copy (which, most 'NICE CONDITION!!' books are generally in.)dickybendy wrote:Damn , I would have gone as high as $6 for that Batman book.......wow Im jealous
When I got it, I was so shocked, I had to look back at what I'd paid for it...I nearly fell over when I saw it.
I'll scan it later if I have the time and/or inclination (yes, I know, the Spidey #17 too!)
