As long as the story is good, I can live with Pete looking like that. It's not really a big deal, it just threw me off. I guess they're going for a more realistic look?FormerReader wrote:I'll admit its not what I expected, but I have faith it will be a great book and its way too early to form much of an opinion. I would assume they are going for more realism. Works for me, especially as it further distances them from the late 80's Marvel look they once had.etos45 wrote:As long as the story is good, I can live with Pete looking like that. Maybe, but now it resembles the Marvel Ultimate line...xodacia81 wrote:I would assume they are going for more realism. Works for me, especially as it further distances them from the late 80's Marvel look they once had.

Re: HARBINGER ANNOUNCED!!!!!
Not sure what you're talking about. I just think that the Harbinger images we've seen so far (especially the one with Pete walking in the crowd) often resemble images from Ultimate Spider-man.MarrowMan wrote:Do you mean the Millar/McNiven one?etos45 wrote:Maybe, but now it resembles the Marvel Ultimate line...xodacia81 wrote:I would assume they are going for more realism. Is it? I don't know how I feel about that. I just figured the empty space at the top was for the opening title or something.greg wrote:The one of Pete in the crowd with all the thoughts is a cover.hulk181man wrote:Any cover images available yet??

Re: HARBINGER ANNOUNCED!!!!!
Agreed with those who think the future stuff should come later. Although the original run started like that, it was more to facilitate Magnus, and since that's not a need, I think it's best to focus on the here and now. That said, one of Valiant's tweets back to me said something like, "how do you know we've not already been there?" (Ed: regarding the future stuff) Which to me felt like maybe some of the XO stuff is future-based...or they were just being cheeky monkeys.
As for the Harbinger stuff, this has me more excited than X-O. The uuber-femmy Himalayan Harada is kind of off, but the bleeding man is cool. As are the few quotes we have so far from Dysart. I was never as big a fan of the Harbinger concept as I was of H.A.R.D. Corps, but this has me ready for action.

I'm 36, but 2012 makes me feel 15 again. Thank you Valiant.

I'm pretty sure The Leafs now hold the longest stretch with no Stanley Cup, (43 years) formerly held by the Rangers (54 years)BruceReville wrote:The year I was born - coincidence?MarrowMan wrote:Ouch, but yes. Re: HARBINGER ANNOUNCED!!!!!
Just listened to Only the Valiant Podcast #67. Following along and looking at the images of Harbinger artwork while they were being discussed in the podcast.
I noticed something interesting in the artwork of Toyo going into the cave (the Buddhist monastery maybe where Archer trained?) to stand before the precog bleeding monk. The blood pouring out of the man seems to be coming from....the center of his chest! Reminded me very much of the Bloodshot cover we now have of the blood seeping down into the American flag.
Some connection there between the bleeding monk and Bloodshot maybe? (Or maybe even Rai if he is to be added somewhere in the present.... or maybe even in the past??)
