I tried to tell him he should just get the second trade now, but he didn't listen. He thinks it's okay to wait for his DCBS order.

Yeah, it just came out on wednesday, and he can pick 11 and jump on board for the "monthly".
Personally, I had to read everything asap as soon as I finished the first trade. Bought digitals, even if I swore I'd never do it for any book, 'cept Harbinger or a very special issue of Unity. And I bought digitals of issues that were already ordered, because I just had to read it on release day (pretty much since I jumped on board).

EoW #6-10 is unbelievably good.
:o -> my face, reading it.

Yeah, I'm going to read the whole run over again tonight. That will make my 4th complete read through and about my 10th time reading #6. I've already read #10 three times.

Hickman is so awesome. Manhattan Projects was instantly one of my favorite books. From the first few issues, I knew I would love it. I still love it, but it has lost that "new car smell". EoW was the opposite. I picked up #1 just because it was Hickman. I thought it was really good, but "it was no Manhattan Projects" in my opinion. They started to swap places after issue 3 or 4. After I read #6, all other comics paled in comparison. The characters in this book are just way too awesome. If Hickman (or really anyone) can write anything better than this book, then I would be extremely surprised (and happy).

I just got to read EoW 11 today - really enjoyed it, a very good set up issue that fleshes out the world just a little more while getting all the ducks lined up in a row. Really excited about seeing more of The Endless Nation representatives next issue. :thumb:

Nick Dragotta was signing and doing free sketches this past Saturday in Berkeley. He was very friendly and took time on everyone's sketches, spending around 15 min on each sketch. Very cool and down-to-earth guy. Pictures of sketch to follow.

Sketch of Xiaolian by Nick Dragotta on 4/12/2014 in Berkeley. I got the sketch on a blank page in the hardcover next to one of my favorite pages.

Very deserving of those nominations. The comic book game has been stepped up to 11 since I came back to the fold. This series is the best the market has to offer, no question.

I've been fairly busy lately and as a result I'm about 2 weeks behind on my pull list books. I read EoW #11 the day after it came out and I half caught up on some of the VEI stuff (I'm about a month behind on those books - not quite a whole month). Sandman Overture #2 sits unread and I'm 3 issues behind on Revival - that tells me a lot about EoW.

I would urge anyone who hasn't read this book (or needs to catch up) to go to Image's website and buy up what you are missing in DRM-free digital editions as they are on sale at 50% off.

So are all of the other Eisner nominated series. There's quite a bunch of them.

I may give Saga another try with this sale.

So Nick Dragotta and Jonathan Hickman did an "Ask Me Anything" on Reddit yesterday:

Here's the link.

Of interest, they confirmed that the series should run 60 issues. I find this very exciting.

That's great. :thumb:

I think some of the greatest stories in comics form are the ones that are a complete tale with a finite ending. This has all the makings of a classic epic.

My thoughts exactly. I mentioned my love of the Rangers and was teased that I would love issue #12. They both seem to think #12 is the best yet.

This makes me very excited.
