A very rare sealed Groo trading card box on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SERGIO-ARAGONES ... 500wt_1202" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think it'll end at around $345.

:hm:
Wow.

Can anyone verify if Web Of Spider-Man 118 2nd print exists? Mile High shows that they're out of stock on it. Mycomicshop doesn't list it at all, and no copies are on eBay.

According to Overstreet there is no second printing of 118. I see it on mycomicshop but they have the same pic for both printings. :?

A set of Crimson Empire II is up to $50 with a day left:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-Crims ... 946wt_1185" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The new Crimson Empire III series has been giving the old books some attention.

Who would've thought these books would go for so much...

Thanks for checking Overstreet. I noticed the Mile High pics look the same for both printings they have listed.
Incidentally, if anyone's wondering, this is the first solo Clone story, and first appearance of Kaine, who I read appeared in Spider Island.

IDW's TMNT newsstand editions seem to be getting high prices because they're being perceived as another variant (they're basically the Cover A's but without the "Cvr A" indicator near the cover price)

Very interesting. Thanks for posting that. I've noticed newsstands seem to be getting a lot more listings on eBay than they used to, and I'm seeing a few more sales than I was. I'm wondering if newsstands are getting a bit more noticed over the last year than they were before for what they are... variants that are much harder to find in high grade than their direct sales counterparts.

Well for the most part there aren't too many differences between a newsstand edition and a direct edition other than the UPC. Only thing I can think of is that for a while during 2005 (although maybe it started before that, I don't know since I haven't checked many newsstand editions from this period) DC's newsstand editions had less ads than their direct market counterparts. It ended around 2006, though. And then there's Marvel's newsstand editions from either 2007 or 2008 onwards, where all of them are priced a dollar higher than the direct market versions. There's even the Saga books which were given away for free at comic shops to recap for new readers, which had a cover price of $3.99 on newsstands.

I agree, though newsstands have a more difficult time surviving in high grade. I went into a Toys R Us recently and they probably had 25 or 30 of the new DC 1s, but only three were 9.2 or higher. I bought those. :thumb:

I just sold my last extra Animal Man #1 for $18.95

I think I still have a few leftovers which aren't really worth selling for what they are going for (cover-ish):
Batman 1
Batman 1 Van Sciver cover
Frankenstein 1
Justice League Dark 1

One to keep an eye on is Luther Strode. #2 just came out. People are finally reading it and word is starting to get out on how enjoyable the book is. A week ago, #1 wasn't moving for $2.25. Now, it's starting to move for $5-7.

This was planned as a mini, but if sales are good, it's going to be done in arcs.

As I suspected, this is why Animal Man #1 is the hottest selling #1 on ebay of the relaunch:
Animal Man – Showed the largest gain in issue #1 to issue #2 with an increase of 14%.
It's good to see a quality book doing well.

Got £12 for my last 1st Print Animal Man # 1.

All other # 1s are selling at £3.50, with most at £4.50 and some £6.95 to Swamp Thing, Bats, Detective at £9.95.

Utter madness, but of the good kind.

Never thought we could get this much interest from a small market stall, feels like early 2000's when we had it busy, busy, busy. Keep it coming DC.
I trade as Dead Universe Comics in the UK, which is no surprise to those who know of my legendary Dead Universe habit.
