They've just been hot out of the gate. I made a post earlier about selling the second issue for 7.99 ea and then 9.99 ea. I think somewhere I've seen it touted as the best book on the shelves right now.

As crazy as it sounds, no price would surprise me, from what I've seen at cons, Hellboy fans a crazy. I've seen Mignola make some serious $$$$ selling stuff, like BIG $$$.

Prophet #21, which reimagines Rob Liefeld's Prophet and is due in stores tomorrow, has sold out at the distributor level, before even hitting the shelves. A couple larger sellers on eBay pre-sold through copies there, as well.

I really never picked the Prophet up back then, but I bought a few of the second series from 1995 a couple days ago to check it out. That series features Chuck Dixon scripts with Stephen Platt art, which I think is a pretty amazing creative team.
Yeah, that ain't my favorite cover.
