Either the Russians have salvaged some tech from the Vine fleet debris, or I was thinking at first they looked a lot like the medical pods Harada was selling.

I thought they were medbots at first too, but it may well be a Wolf-class armor. I hadn't remembered that is what they looked like in the new version.

Did Aric bring back Wolf and Commando class armours from Loam?

When he left he was pretty much their ruler, would he not be well equipped? Is he still in contact with Vine on Loam? I would think so and if that's the case he should be able to order up a squad of Commando armours for his peeps no problem

That could be cool. A little down the line Earth gets attacked by oversized bugs and the Visigoths have to defend their new homeland from said oversized bugs... Armourines all over that is.

I was thinking there is so much tech floating around in the debris ring left over from the Vine fleet, and last issue of X-O we found out other nations were heading into space to mine from it. Not out of the realm of possibility that the Russians secured some intact Wolf Class Armor suits that way

Also, Alexander Dorian was present when Aric took out the Vine Commandos. Maybe he got his hands on those suits and will make a deal with the US Gov't. Lucrative business to be had for Orb Industries as suppliers of the Armorine tech!

Going to go out on a limb here, and say the second arc of Unity will crossover with Bloodshot and/or Eternal Warrior and feature a look into the Valiant Futureverse...including the introduction of Rai!

An ad swap is when one internet site swaps an ad with another instead of paying for ad space. Perhaps VALIANT and Dark Horse are swapping some page space? Matt Kindt could draw two strips that appear in the other publisher's book: one for Unity, one for Mind MGMT.

Both those seem logical.The ships destroyed had to have allot of tech and even if there wasn't an intact armor reverse engineering a working Armor wouldn't be that difficult with the worlds greatest minds on it.

As well ..If Alexander didn't get the Vine Commando armors maybe the government did.

So now that the 1st issue is out ... does anyone want to begin to theorize where this title is going long term?

I hope its more than just about a team of misfits ... going from one arc to another fighting a different "enemy" ... I don't think that concept fits the name of Unity which was this brilliantly and carefully constructed narrative that was not only played out through the Unity crossover but was being developed little by little throughout all the pre-unity titles.

i really would like this book to be about some main over arching threat to the earth, to the universe, to time itself aka Erica Peirce/Mothergod

I don't want it to be the same ... but i'd like to see it match that type of ambition and imaginative scope

I do love Matt Kindt's writing and have faith in VEI - it was a great first issue and I have faith it will be a great series. I just want it to be the very best it can be ... and just wondering how this "team" will work out in the long term.

Well, with the 4001 timeline being introduced around the same time as the first Unity arc is ending, I could see a tie in with the Futureverse, the Faraway, Archer & Armstrong, the Geomancer, Timewalker, Rai, etc that would harken back to VH1 Unity.

If Erica Pierce was to be introduced some how, that would be great, but it would have to be soon in order to develop the character as a threat.

March solicits are only so far away, and VEI has mentioned a few times that Unity's second arc will up the ante. We should start getting some clues pretty soon where this is going.

Overall, though, you are right. This first arc is about pulling the characters together, but there's no way they're going to be sitting around in a mansion somewhere waiting for Master Darque to try to take over the world. They will need an overarching mission that comes out of this initial event.

Maybe the Bleeding Monk? ... A while ago Dysart mentioned working on another major crossover ... either that idea got squashed or maybe he meant working with Kindt on the 2nd arc to Unity. Bleeding Monk #0 leading to the 2nd arc of Unity would make some sense.

FVL has also been laying some great ground work with Ivar and the Far Away ... and with EW starting the futureverse storyline ... we'll see if any of that will eventually tie into Unity.

Starting to sound like just a plain old fashioned team book...that would be very disappointing as I believe the name "Unity" should be reserved for only the most epic of story/concept. Otherwise, this is just Secret Weapons (which I asked for for some time, btw) but with the cheap marketing ploy of slapping "Unity" at the top. That's no different than Marvel slapping "Avengers" at the top of every book, and I expect better from VEI.
