So, I bought a collection of Harbinger #1-6, without coupons....mainly cause, if the price is right, it doesn't bother me....and it came with a Pink #0.

So, it doesn't occur to me at the time, but after I receive them, I realize...this was someone's set, that they carefully clipped, and sent in the coupons, to get their #0 Pink. It wasn't just some retailers overstock, it was someone's set who carefully clipped each coupon every month, and got their much prized book in the end.

That kinda stuff really touches me.

I bought an Amazing Spiderman lot the same exact way...when I received the long box filled with comics, I saw the stickers and artwork on the long box, and realized that this was someone's carefully built, carefully cared for collection, that they enjoyed and cherished.

I think I'll keep those books. :thumb:

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

I bet that dealer was ripping his hair out that the book only went for $20.50. Check out the guy's store for Valiants and laugh yourself silly at his bloated prices!

EDIT: weird, when I went back to look again, all of this seller's overpriced Valiants were gone! :?

It's a conspiracy, I tell you! :!:

I didn't bid high enough to get his Magnus #0 (with card) CGC 9.6 ($45 shipped)...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0006925298
...so someone else got a good deal there.
I thought I had bid $55, but I guess it was $44. Oh well. :)

Here's my pick up - Eternal Warrior 1-15: $1.25 missing 2 issues

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1

Is $1.25 still a good price in "today's market"? what's that? around 10 cents an issue?

Meanwhile that's a 95% drop in the "face value" from the cover price (!)

DANG.....

So, does anyone have an Internet magnifying glass? If so, check out this auction, see if it's the $2.50 cover (I can't tell) -

There is no UPC under the "Who is the Visitor" on issue #1 so that makes the $2.95 version.

In my opinion, you have to factor in shipping with any eBay win to know if you got a good deal. You actually paid $5.20 for these books, which breaks down to 43 cents a book, still a nice deal if you don't already have the books.

Shipping for me is twisted. I live outside the States, so immediatley I'm paying $6-$9 for shipping. I look at it as a "sunk cost" :!:

Dude you wont believe this deal I just got....

I got two Pre-unity books... one was a Rai book, the other was either a Magnus book or a Rai book, I kept getting confused... but whatever, it is signed by like the author and the artist and stuff...

it even came with a cetrificate or something about it being authentic..

there was even some extra cool, extra stuff with the books...

the books were even numbered, I got #51!

All for just $40!!!! :o :o :o :o :o

anyone else see this?

(this is my best deal of late!)

(actually, the best part of the deal is being part of funding for a cure)
