I remember my first big Valiant purcahse.
$10 for a Rai 0, in 1995, I think. At the time it was a big purchase.
I forget how much I paid for my XO 0 Gold, but it was in 1994 or 1995, so I am sure it wasn't cheap.
The most I have ever paid for a single Valiant issues was probably one of the VcVSS issues (or VfVSS). But I have paid over $100 for sets of comics.

I paid $400 for the Sting convention variant penguin on a board auction . . . (it came with some way cool extras):cloud9:
- I did end up getting that money back later, but still . . .
I think I paid about $100 for a NM Harby #1 . . but part of that was trade . . I think I gave cash and some "hot" Image books at the time . . It was at a convention . . .
I was out of money after that and afterwards I ran into a dealer that had the original art for some early Preacher issues (when Jessie was young and fighting Jodie) . . I so wish I could go back in time and give young me more cash . . .

I don't know for sure.
I bought a group of 6 CGC graded Valiants for $450 "Buy It Now" on eBay in 2004.
One of them was Harbinger #1 CGC 9.8, so I could say
that I bought it for $450 and got 5 books free.

I paid $214 for the CGC 10.0 Rai #0 in January 2003.
(Got offered $1,000 later... turned it down.)

I've got two answers...
If we're talking the most expensive single book: I paid slightly over $100 for a CGC 9.8 graded Magnus 0 with card.
If we're talking which purchase cost me the most, it was a Harby #1 that I bought from sonicdan about 6 years ago that got me back into collecting Valiants. I stumbled across his site, saw that he had a Harby #1 for sale and bought it. Since then, I've bought [probably] one thousand Valiant books.
