Instead of too much coffee, we now have "Too many players".Heath wrote:I agree, Knightt. I just finished The Force Unleashed and liked the story. I wish they would do more games like that and the "Old Republic" would be a great setting for such a game. I just don't have the time to dedicate to a MMORPG.
I am thinking about picking that back up for the 360, geez the game is so cheap now. I went through a weird phase and was tossing out games left and right. Was it really that long ago that the game came out or did it tank ?Heath wrote:I agree, Knightt. I just finished The Force Unleashed and liked the story. I just picked up Bionic Commando and I tell ya, I am having difficulties with general gameplay. I mean the bionic arm is supposed to 'help' right ? hehe
But I was VERY excited to play The Force Unleashed but for some reason it fell short of my expectations at the time.
I wish this new SW game would come out for the 360 or PS3 in a single player version/multiplayer version because the concept is very intriguing. Just limiting it to a MMORPG IMO is not very smart. BUT it certainly is trying to appeal to a specific audience.

IF EA/Bioware/Lucasarts can find a way to port it too the consoles they probably will (I mean Bioware stated for quite a while that Mass Effect 1 was going to be an Xbox 360 exclusive and they released it on PC).Daniel Jackson wrote:Amazing looking game. A shame it's only for the PC.
I mean there are only a few MMOs on consoles Final Fantasy 12 and DCU Online are the only two that I know of that are out on the current generation.

I hope you're right. I would love to be able to have this one for the 360.Cyberstrike wrote:IF EA/Bioware/Lucasarts can find a way to port it too the consoles they probably will (I mean Bioware stated for quite a while that Mass Effect 1 was going to be an Xbox 360 exclusive and they released it on PC).Daniel Jackson wrote:Amazing looking game. The problem is that MMOs are difficult to do on a console because of the lack of a keyboard. I tried with FFXI for PS2 and it really was a painful experience. Even after adding a USB keyboard, it just wasn't the same. I hope it's something they can eventually figure out, but for now I'm okay with playing on a PC.Cyberstrike wrote:IF EA/Bioware/Lucasarts can find a way to port it too the consoles they probably will (I mean Bioware stated for quite a while that Mass Effect 1 was going to be an Xbox 360 exclusive and they released it on PC).Daniel Jackson wrote:Amazing looking game. You mean FF XI, right? Because XII was a single player, offline game and imo, is the greatest RPG of the PS2/XBox/GameCube generation and I am counting FFX and some pc games.Cyberstrike wrote:IF EA/Bioware/Lucasarts can find a way to port it too the consoles they probably will (I mean Bioware stated for quite a while that Mass Effect 1 was going to be an Xbox 360 exclusive and they released it on PC).Daniel Jackson wrote:Amazing looking game. Money is one reason I don't do MMO's, because I simply can't afford the money each month, especially as I tend to be too busy to play the game/s enough to justify the cost out of my meager budget. I would much rather spend 40 on a game that will take 60-100 hours to complete and that I can go over several times, at my own pace, without having to worry about network issues or upgrades and such. That said, I do get the appeal of these games. Anyways, my gaming days are pretty much behind me.Jay Tomio wrote:I will only play an MMO these days. I tend to look at it in the opposite way, if it's not worth an investment in time, I don't really want to play it. Not too sold on this though (yet). Galaxies was supposed to be good and kind of sucked/was boring.
Last game I was really invested in was Neverwinter Nights (playing on persistent worlds). Tried playing RIFT when it came back, but quickly got bored with the very aspect that was the catch or draw of the game and the lack of brainpower and nuance it took for character builds.

Re: Knights of the old republic - trailer
I played SWG for years and just recently reinstalled to tool around for the last couple months of the game - for free it appears. I think the Old Republic MMORPG is right around the corner but I will probably pass on it - too much with kids and XBox Live stuff now! (new Assassin's Creed, new Call of Duty!)
