My wife has read more of the Gold Key/Dell stuff outside of Magnus, Solar and Turok than I have. One of her favourites is a character called Brain Boy and I have two issues that both bear the Dell logo.JCVaughn wrote:MARS Patrol has my interest, too, but I know a lot of folks are pulling for Dr. Spektor.svair wrote:I'm crossing my fingers for MARS Patrol and Dr Spektor!..
I have a few Mars Patrol issues and they are run of the mill campy, 60's sci-fi. In other words, the kind of thing she really likes.

Might be a cool series to see. The characters sound like they would make for a cool "Birds of Prey" style book.

This mention was in the Mighty Samson wiki page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mighty_Samson
Project Superpowers, a comic book from Alex Ross and Dynamite Entertainment announced in 2007, reviving many golden-age comic book characters will feature a Samson that is ostensibly the golden age Fox Features Samson, though the visual design seems to have been inspired by the Gold Key character.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
And the Fox Feature Syndicate Samson wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samson_%28 ... _comics%29
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Dynamite character on the cover definitely uses the visual look of the Gold Key version...

While I enjoyed the character in the first Project Superheroes series, it at least seems like Alex was getting his visual cues from the the Gold Key Mighty Samson, doesn't it?
On the other hand, I got my copies of Mighty Samson #32 and Gold Key Champion #2 today, so I've completed my Mighty Samson set until the new material comes out.
Also got my Tales of the Sunrunners issues (completing the Pacific-Eclipse-Sirius-Amazing Comics series... just about a publisher every two issues...) and the versions of Static #1 that I didn't have. Woo-ee!

No, it started at Pacific. BUT I entirely forgot about The Sunrunners Christmas Special, so I'm one issue shy of complete.Draco wrote:JCVaughn wrote:While I enjoyed the character in the first Project Superheroes series, it at least seems like Alex was getting his visual cues from the the Gold Key Mighty Samson, doesn't it?
