Yeah, I'm calling BS on this. The photo is identical, right down to individual reflections off the raised outlines on the characters in the word Bloodshot.
So, dude, you gonna fess up to the gag or what? You sure don't sound like you're joking in this thread.

Did the cover remain intact? Is it now split into two sheets?

I examined the photos very closely and I find 10 key marks that are identical. I feel 100% its the same photo. Thats not to say he didnt just use the photo and I am in no way saying anyone is lying

I don't know. He pretty much begs you to examine his photo and admire his work. He wants you to believe that pic is his book.VEI Reborn wrote:MoonChild wrote:Yea, its the exact same photo.

It's the same photo.
Right click on it and hit 'view image'.
In another tab go to the image on the main website and do the same thing.
Now click back and forth between tabs.
Camera one, camera two. Camera one, camera two.
Right click on it and hit 'view image'.

Good call ... People sure are bored to be coming up with *SQUEE* like this. Maybe former banned posters just stirring up *SQUEE*.jasont215 wrote:Is it me, or does this look exactly like the stock Bloodshot 0 Plat photo on this site?

You should really think about this... it'd be a GREAT idea. Just mark it as clearly not a plat and I think it'd be okay.

I'm sorry, apparently I should have dug out the camera instead of running it in the scanner. Is that better? Did I put enough crap in the shot that you can tell it's me?

The first pic you uploaded is almost certainly just the stock photo from the main website. Not sure why you did that as it throws your credibility out the window. Care to explain?wallywest1980 wrote:

Therefore, I can't help but feel that what you posted now may be no more than a printed out copy of the stock photo from the website. I'm not going to tell you what clues me in to that.
For me to believe you've actually created this and are not just playing some kind of a game, I'd like to see:
1. A scan the actual book and
2. A photo with you holding up the cover to reveal the upside down interior page. Photo should show the price box on the cover and the first interior page as one would take a photo of a double cover book.

I'd prefer a DNA sample and your first born to hold as collateral while we verify the DNA testing results.wallywest1980 wrote:

But seriously, how did you do it? You can't just post "I did something cool, but I can't tell you how!"
People knowing about how it is done is going to be more valuable for detecting fakes than it will be for making fakes.

You put enough crap in the photo so we can tell that you're pretty good at photoshop. If I had more free time I could probably do the same with microsoft paint.
I'm not sure what you have to gain from any of this, but the fact that you used Greg's photo and claimed it as your own means that you are a liar.

If you make enough of these Bloodshot Plats and sell a few of them, maybe you can take a nice vacation. I can recommend an excellent guide for nighttime rock climbing excursions.

I do not want him to tell us how to do it.... if people start making them, then members that have a real one are in trouble. Lets say I bought one then this comes out, the value would drop because they are not as rare now.

If you were able to actually do what he claims, you wouldn't post a stock photo pinched from this very website; then ask people to examine it and start making insinuations about the "secret process" that he can't tell anyone about. I'm guessing the photo is floating around out there on the net and he didn't realize it was the one in our database, or that the board even has a database.
Not coincidentally, if you google "blooshot 0 platinum" images, the picture in our database is the first entry to appear.
He then continues the lie by claiming that the problem was that he scanned the book. It's not possible. The photos are identical down to the tiniest idiosyncratic imperfection. Every reflection, printing defect and skuff matches the database photo.
Next I suspect he'll yank that one down from imageshack so people can't compare the two anymore.
Wally, are you intentionally screwing with the market for this book, or just screwing with us?

Re: Bloodshot #0 platinum. (kinda)
We know it was the stock photo in the first place so what this new pic is about who knows, he still never explained why he posted a stock photo. Bullsh!t all around...
