I will say it may be the best new Valiant issue yet. Fred crafted a masterpiece and Clayton's art has elevated to a new level!

Re: Our C2E2 Experience - aka Valiant Hijinks
It was an excellent size for a first con. Lots of vendors, artists and publishers, but not so big that you couldn't take it all in within a day if you needed to. I thought the whole thing ran smoothly. On a side note, if I lived in the area, I would definitely take my kids to the "kid day". They had all sorts of activities and guests for young'uns - and kids are the BEST cosplayers.Elveen wrote:My very favorite threads are con experience threads. Thank for the postings.
Sometime I can see myself getting out to C2E2.

So glad you guys had a great time! Hope you got to enjoy Chicago as well. I'm very jealous once again (especially getting to read TWO books early!), and really hope I get to go to a con with VEI soon.

Looks awesome! I wish there was a con down here they went to, or that they would have a booth at SDCC.

That was so awesome of you to post all of that! Very cool to see all of the creator interactions you had, as well as all the goodies you came home with! Super jealous! Congrats on your first con!

Re: Our C2E2 Experience - aka Valiant Hijinks
This was my second year attending C2E2. It was nice knowing what to expect and being a bit more prepared.
Last year Valiant was just about to launch with X-O Manowar. What a year it has been. As Amy said Valiant is amazing to the fans and they all work great together.

Valiant's booth schedule day 2: (Green Ring Guy, lol)

Valiant's booth schedule day 3:

Atom handing out free comics:

8 bit goodness:

Amy Reeder doing a sketch of Kris. She was super cool and it was awesome to see her draw!

Jill Thompson showing Amy original art from Beasts of Burden:

Comixology booth giving Valiant some love:
I mentioned to them I enjoy reading Valiant Comics on their app and I appreciate them being available.
The guy there said Valiant makes it easy to support since they make such great comics!

Mico signing comics for Amy. He is incredibly talented and super friendly!

Robert Venditti at the Valiant booth:

VALIANT 2013: HARBINGER WARS AND BEYOND panel

Comicpreneurs: Secrets of Successful Pop Culture Start-ups panel.
Dinesh along with John Roberts from Comixology and Ted Adams from IDW.
I talked to the moderator,Rob Salkowitz, at the bar later that evening and he was very impressed
with Dinesh and Valiant.

VALIANT 2013: THE CRAFT OF COMICS WITH WARREN SIMONS
Warren was sick but Josh Johns stepped up #likeaboss and did an awesome job along with Robert Venditti.
Signed copies of X-O #7 were handed out afterwards.

LOL on Maguire
Dan got some excellent finds. So glad he got that pic of Jill Thompson for me. I was too in awe of her surprising me with that piece to get a photo. #derp
I can see Elveen's Comics having a booth at C2E2.

My first con was San Diego. That was WAY TOO BIG for my first convention. I didn't even know there were others at the time, either.pixierosa wrote:It was an excellent size for a first con. Wow epic write up pixierosa. Saw a pic of you and Dan on the twitter this morning, a great shot. Totally jealous of the sketches ... That is the only thing I really collect anymore.
Dan, love the Adventure Time C2E2 edition!

Thanks for the photos and stories -- looks like it was an great time! It's really cool to see so many creators at the Valiant booth, too. I'm hoping they bring out some writers/artists to the next California convention. Would love to get some more creators signatures besides Dysart (not that I have anything against him - just think I have very little left that he hasn't signed!) and/or some sketch covers done by people involved with VEI.
