Tekla in clothes. I don't recall that look for her. Interesting. Glad to hear Mr Sunkist pulled through.
And Hawkeye, that logo on the cover dress should be a cat with a bird in it's mouth.
Or maybe just a cat head silhouette.

Thats a pretty good idea jmatt - I could also just put a paw print silhouette over the bird... that would convey the same concept as the bird in a cats mouth, I think! I'll see if I can do something that looks good like that...jmatt wrote:And Hawkeye, that logo on the cover dress should be a cat with a bird in it's mouth.Or maybe just a cat head silhouette.

How about simply changing the circle around the bird to the shape of a cat paw? Kinda like, "Gotcha!"
Or is that what you were describing?

I meant making a paw print over top of the bird not out of the circle behind, but that's a decent idea too.

Very early on, before the series was done, we did a 4 page promo brochure. This is one of the pages. I can post all of the brochure if you want. Is there a better place for that on the board than here?

Re: UNITY- VH1, VEI and VFans for Mr.Sunkist! HISTORIC LOOK!
Early this morning our little nut got feisty with his bandage and managed to pull it down a little. We had to take him back to the vet and have it re-wrapped. The vet said it was good that we did anyway, turned out the dressing did need to be changed and I would not have gone to the vet until our appointment this Thursday. He wasn't too happy about it at fist, but he seems fine now. He's getting his energy back and getting around better. Last night, Freddy cooked him a piece of tilapia and tonight Freddy grilled him a slice of turkey breast on the Foreman grill. lol. So, we are spoiling him rotten. He's been eating his canned food like crazy too.
It seems like I will have to take him to the vet every week for 4 to 6 weeks. Hopefully the wound will heal. I got my first look at his surgical wound today and I was kind of weirded out by how bad it is. But the doctor said it was doing well, so he should be on the road to recovery. He even attempted to jump onto the bed today! Luckily Freddy was chasing him and caught him! Gotta watch him every minute!
Thank you all!

It is a very distinct honour to have my work coloured by a talented Valiant veteran such as yourself, JayJay! And a true pleasure working with you on getting these prints made too. I'm proud to see the community here has been so supportive of the endeavour to help you out.JayJayJackson wrote:I hope you guys didn't think I was a crazy person for posting the old Magnus brochure art. I just thought it was a beautiful and heroic looking piece. lol.
But, seriously, it was so cool coloring over Josh's Purrbinger art and for Jim and Dinesh to also participate in the project and sign the prints is pretty awesome, too. I'm so happy and thankful to be a part of the VALIANT community. Over the years it has been the most positive and cool experience. It was beyond exciting working in the early days on VALIANT and then, later on, seeing the amazing, intelligent and insightful group of fans that Valiant has attracted and getting to know many of the fans who have become friends has been an incredible experience as well. I have been very, very lucky. Thank you guys.
And hey - let me be the first to extend a warm welcome to you here on the boards too, I'm glad you've joined

For any newer Valiant fans who may not know, JayJay worked with Jim Shooter at Marvel, Valiant, Defiant & Broadway comics. Here is a good summary to read a little about her successful career during some important periods in comics history.

I recently started a blog with the intention of telling some stories about the old days, then I got slammed with work and haven't had time to work on it, but I did do a list of my jobs in comics, if anyone is interested.grendeljd wrote:It is a very distinct honour to have my work coloured by a talented Valiant veteran such as yourself, JayJay! Re: UNITY- VH1, VEI and VFans for Mr.Sunkist! HISTORIC LOOK!
Great News! The vet just called. Mr. Sunkist's tumor was a benign peripheral nerve sheath tumor. They got all of it and it is not expected to grow back! Such a relief! Now the kitty just has to heal. He will have to be in bandages for 4 to 6 weeks, but they said the skin will grow back over the wound and he should be fine. So happy! Thank you everyone for your help! He's doing so well.
We felt like he had turned a corner yesterday in getting around, too. He had really been struggling to walk with the bandage on his leg, but yesterday we removed the pain med patch and protective collar and he seems to be walking easier. I think he'll get better with time.
I was so happy I filmed him. lol.
