Published by Dynamite. :(
Ugh! You're kidding... No, I guess that makes sense, they have the IP for The Shadow. At least Grendel is (currently) a DarkHorse book, I have no trouble supporting that side of it. I'm gonna have to get it anyway, new Grendel by Matt overcomes my distaste for Dynamite, unfortunately.
Could it be a Dark Horse/Dynamite combination? That is what they did for the Criminal Macabre/30 Days of Night Crossover, even though they are both creator owned.

I don't have a problem buying Dynamite comics if they are something i want. They published the completion to the Next Men series by Byrne which i ended up getting.
Next Men was IDW. I love that series too - so glad he wrote those to finish it off, although I didn't entirely enjoy the ending of it.

I'm suspecting the Grendel/Shadow x-over would be a DH/DYN combo too.
SJS4 wrote:I always thought it was cool that the crossover was in continuity for Grendel. Usually those crossovers are more like "What If" stories.

Didn't know about the upcoming Shadow crossover, will keep an eye out for it. I have a nearly do plete run of the Comico Grendel series and everything after that from Dark Horse.
Yeah, I like that Batman/Grendel II was in continuity - but it is still a little odd for a story that started out as a supernatural/crime genre & moved into an epic sci-fi genre to jump over to a superhero genre.

What Comico issues are you missing? My favourite of the run was #24-40, although I love it all.

A SERIOUS ANSWER-*SQUEE* NOSTALGIA (ALMOST): :P

- Civil War was really good.
- Age of Apocalipse.
- No Man's Land is probably my fav Batman crossover, if you ask me today :D . It was very good, but could have been a bit shorter, too. Still, too much goodness in this story. I love the Oracle/Cassie relationship building, along the great actiony stuff happening. Plus, Huntress. :cloud9:
- Mutant Massacre was also very good. Fond memories.
- Knightfall saga. Despite being a 90's product, there's very good stuff in there that still matters not to bat-canon (ZING), but the mythos.
- Again the X-Men/New Teen Titans was awesome to me, at the time. And I actually think it is still very enjoyable. It's Dark Phoenix and Darkseid, plus Deathstroke. Awesome. :thumb: VALIANT should use these inter-company crossovers, seriously. It puts these "new" characters in reader's hands right away.
- Avengers-Defenders War: if this counts as a crossover, its gotta be up there. Probably, the comic I read most during my first years as a Marvel fan. I bought it from the shelves in 1985, and devoured every one of those pages. It introduced me to the concept of the Defenders and some new characters (to me) like Dormammu or the Swordsman. Plus, that bit woth Thor and Hulk's battle/test of "strength" was amazing for 8 year old me. I was truly expecting an homage scene in the Avengers movie.

Just some of those I really enjoyed.

It is.

Acts of Vengeance. Taking each hero's nemesis and pitting them against another villains nemesis The Wizard vs Spiderman, Magneto vs Avengers, Dr Doom vs Thor etc. wasn't epic, or universe shaking but a neat concept should have been company wide though. Imagine MGneto vs Hulk, Kingpin vs Xmen, Spiderman vs Thanos, avengers vs Hellfire club etc maybe Alpha Flight vs Red Skull, Excalibur vs Hydra. Could have executed it a lot better

Spiderman (1990) 17.

Notwithstanding the debacle that was Spidey Super Stories 39, featuring the Thanos Copter. Drat.
