I think it would be cool to see Shadowman make an appearance. I think it's quite likely it'll happen too - Matt Kindt has already begun the set-up/precedence for it in Unity 5.jmatt wrote:Yes, but that's what would make it interesting. Yup, if Shadowman (the book) disappears for a while after "End Times", we'll see the character in Unity. My guess.grendeljd wrote:I think it would be cool to see Shadowman make an appearance. Yeah...potentially. It'd need some seriously good writing for me to enjoy Unity & Shadowman joining up but I guess it could be possible.jmatt wrote:Yes, but that's what would make it interesting. I think it's having a 'format' of always having guest characters which I have a slight issue with.

Over the course of the last, I dunno, 9 months I have been re-reading old SA Marvel. Read the first 130 issues of the Avengers, then switched to Iron Man and am currently at issue #51.Dallow Spicer1 wrote:I think it's having a 'format' of always having guest characters which I have a slight issue with.
Ya know what? The Avengers is way, way more interesting because the cast is ever changing, which allows the writers to venture from Asgard to the Negative Zone to Black Widow's Russian foes to Black Panther's African foes to Cap's dealings with Baron Zemo to Goliath's changes from Ant-Man/Yellow Jacket to Hawkeye's love triangle with BW / Daredevil to battling Kang across the ages, etc etc.
Iron Man is why-oh-why am I Iron Man, here comes a robot and a guy in a suit of armor. I hate being Iron Man, I think I'll make my current love interest hate me for her own safety. Fin.
Rotating Cast = Great.

It doesn't hurt that you get to have characters share the spotlight too, so they can all play off against each other in developing the story.jmatt wrote:Over the course of the last, I dunno, 9 months I have been re-reading old SA Marvel. Re: Bloodshot Joins Unity in June
I was just reading through a bunch of VH1 Bloodshot issues this weekend - I kind of forgot he was working for Neville at MI-6 for awhile there.
This will likely work out as an opportunity for us to see VEI Bloodshot develop a connection with MI-6 through the Unity team. I'm up for that

Personally I quite like the rotating cast. I think it keeps things nice and fresh, and certainly interesting if nothing else

And develop their own spin-offs. The Vision and the Scarlet Witch got their own title for a while.kjjohanson wrote:It doesn't hurt that you get to have characters share the spotlight too, so they can all play off against each other in developing the story.
In reading it, I found it funny after awhile that each arc would begin with the cast members engaging each other in fisticuffs. This would either result in better bonding within the group or create personal rivalries to be resolved in some future issue. Way more interesting than Marvel's usual self-loathing (ala IM and Spider-Man).

I wonder if Jack/Shadowman would really be a good team player or not. I'm not sure to what degree they'd want to cooperate with the team, especially the Loa... Still, that could be quite interesting in itself.Dallow Spicer1 wrote:Yeah...potentially. Who says Jack survives End Times? Maybe Josiah returns, or we have a new Shadowman.Shadowman99 wrote:I wonder if Jack/Shadowman would really be a good team player or not. Hm, well I don't know what to make of this really, but talking to Peter Milligan at LSCC, he referred to End Times as "going back to number one". Didn't have time to get him to elaborate, so who knows...Phoenix8008 wrote:I've wondered if this might be the direction they were going to go.BugsySig wrote:Who says Jack survives End Times? Yeah, that could mean rebooting the series as a #1, or just going back to the story or characters shown in #1 - like Josiah somehow coming back as Shadowman. Lots of possibilities.Shadowman99 wrote:Hm, well I don't know what to make of this really, but talking to Peter Milligan at LSCC, he referred to End Times as "going back to number one".
