I realize that this is not as exciting as Ninjak or the artwork is not the same as Bloodshot Reborn or as intriguing as Imperium, a few of my favorites, but I have a daughter that is seven years old and our bedtime stories consist of My Little Pony and Barbie comics. She doesn't get into superhero characters, yet.

One night I was talking to her about Faith and after telling her about the character I took a chance and asked her if she would like for me to read Faith #1 to her. She said yes, I think even she was tired of what we had been reading. So, we read Faith that night and she loved it! It was nice to finally read about a character that I actually liked to read about instead of the other crap. The next night she came up to me and asked "Dad, can we read about Faith again tonight?" Of course, and we did. Unfortunately I only had issues one and two so she was disappointed the next night when we couldn't read the next issue, but I had good news for her because the third issue was due out that week. We were unable to go to the LCS until Sunday but she asked me each day that week if we could go to the store and buy issue three. There was never this kind of want for her to go buy any of the other titles we have read together. That Sunday we went to our LCS, bought the book and read it that night. She is really getting into this story, we may have a new Valiant fan! It was kind of a bummer, though when I told her that there was only one more issue of this title coming out and there are really no other Valiant options (I don't buy many marvel or dc) for us to read together. I haven't told her yet that we will be able to continue to read about Faith together monthly, I'll tell her that after we read issue four.

Like I said earlier, Faith has never been one of my favorite characters, but seeing the interest my daughter has, certainly is helping Faith become one of my favorites. Wouldn't it be amazing if Valiant continued to make the books we all love and also had a few books that were appropriate for a younger audience and help add new readers? Wouldn't it be awesome if we could wake up Saturday morning and watch a Faith cartoon?

We are definitely looking forward to the ongoing! Thank you Dinesh & Valiant!

That is absolutely AWESOME!

You can always make up new Faith stories to tell her. That's what I do with my oldest daughter. Now my son? He always wants to hear about Superman when he was a little boy. And my yougest daughter? The origin of the Silver Surfer....every....freaking....night..... :P

Divinity II #1. I got the ComicsPro Retailer Exclusive Edition, I'm not sure what will be changed in the official first issue, but I'm assuming that won't.

Can't really understand why this isn't the second arc of Faith's current series, but #1s tell me why.
Not very excited about this, specially since it takes the place of Imperium as one of the ongoings (not related, I'm just p***ed that Imperium is ending and that this series seems too generic for my taste)

Still, I'll try it for the first arc. Hope it's good.

My only gripe is that the mini isn't getting converted into the ongoing, with the July issue being #5, but I understand that it gives Valiant time to promote a new #1 and give the book a big launch.

Aside from that, I'm glad that the character/book are popular enough to get an ongoing. Faith is a very light-hearted character, with almost silver-age qualities and enthusiasm. And yes, her appearance is different. But look at how much great press VEI has gotten because of it. 5 printings. This is the kind of book that is someone's first Valiant title. That should be praised.

Please don't overdo it on the variants, VEI.

Just checked VEI's website and Faith #1 will have 10 variant covers, not counting Retailer variants. My initial guess of 9 covers was pretty close. :?

Someone tell me again, in two sentences or less: How exactly does VEI benefit from having these high number of variant covers? (I genuinely don't know, someone please explain!)
