What movie would you make?
Moderators: Daniel Jackson, greg
hahahah...no.
i think if done right, and the trailers done well, bloodshot would be excellent. and, if they make one, it would be like two years before it came out, which would give time for the punisher movie to die away. it would have to be V1 i think, cuz V2 looks to comicy, not real life enough. the problem would be the beginning. no one would know who the crap geoff is, or what the heck a geomancer is. but there are ways to work around that.

Since I'm @$$-kickin' free, I can reply!Byrneout wrote:Well... I *could* do the pale and pasty aspect of Bloodshot pretty well - but I'm only 6'1", maybe 6'2" in ring gear. That, and the burn scars on my chest would be a problem - but hey, they airbrushed out most of the Rock's tattoo for "Walking Tall", so I guess they could do that for me, also...
Heh. No worries on that part, I assure you!BloodOfHeroes wrote: (please don't kick my @$$)

Maybe we hire some people of smaller-than-average stature to be your co-stars? And the red dot makeup could take care of the scars.
The Rock's really that tall? Wow. Who'd'a thunk it?

I may be tar'd and feather'd for saying so, but I've always been a much bigger Asimov fan! I discovered the Foundation series soon after graduating high school, and I was hooked. He passed away just about the time I was finishing them ('92ish?) and I couldn't wait for the last installment to come out. Since I've read the RObot novels as well. Great to hear about I, Robot ... I will have to seek out the trailer!greg wrote:I saw an extended trailer for "I, Robot" with Will Smith.
Get this:
In the future, Will Smith's law enforcement character is the only person
who believes that the robots may have "ulterior motives" besides
100% obedience to humans. He thinks they may "rise up" in large
numbers against the humans... and he wants to stop them!

yeah, the Rock is bout 6'5". he'd be a good Bloodshot considering size and build.
i've always been a big fan of Harbinger and I'd probably do a condensed version of #1 to #25. starting off with Pete first finding out about his powers, his inital involvement with the Harbinger corporation and then rebelling with the rest of the group, Torque somehow dying midpoint and it being revealed that Harada actually controlled everything. the final scene would be the battle between Sting and Toyo with Sting putting Harada in a coma, losing his powers and walking off in the sunset. of course i'd dump a lot of the filler, the HARDCorps stuff, Unity gaps, any mentions of Shaniqua and Screen, and probably focus the film on the relationships between the core kids, Pete, Kris, Torque, Flamingo and Zephyr. it could work if you used popular young actors and had the right special effects.
other than that, i think the XO story would translate well. i'd imagine a Solar story would be cool as well. I think Shadowman could work on a smaller scale, sort of how the Nightman tv show worked.

OK...I like the idea of the Rock as Bloodshot, and Walken as Solar. But the absolute best movie, or better yet, TV series would be Magnus pre- Malev war. You could even end the series with the Malev war story arc.
X-O is also an obvious pick, but lets not forget Eternal Warrior either. Now that would be a helluva TV series if done right. You could even incorporate Archer & Armstong and Timewalker. I could see a bad *SQUEE*/cold blooded actor like Hugh Jackman or Keifer Southerland as EW, Keanu Reeves(shaved head) as Archer, and Jon Rhys-Davies(??) as Armstong. Timewalker could be portrayed by the actor that portrayed the elf in Lord of the Rings (I can't remember his name).

JRDavies strikes me as a little too old to be Armstrong... looks wise.
i'd like to see a guy like Michael Clarke Duncan play the role. Not necessarily him (although he did a decent job as Kingpin), but someone of his stature. Not overweight, but definitely muscular enough that you could portray super strength.

The Nightman TV series was atrocious in my opinion, but even then, it was better than what Marvel did to the character. I was intrigued by the concept, and actually purchased the book, up until the Marvel decision to make him a psychotic cannibal.
Of course, I think that as far as television goes, Eternal Warrior is the series we want. Look how well Highlander did, and Highlander didn't have the very cool concept for the Immortal Enemy or the Geomancers. Shadowman might make for an interesting spin-off, if done right - have Darque make a few appearances in the past, then EW meets Maxim and calls him in as the "first" Shadowman to combat Darque, then bring the story up to modern times with a Jack Boniface.
Again, just my thoughts.

I originally had that thought but felt the story would be too close to the Highlander story, basically with someone who is immortal and with flashbacks into the past historical events- thought it may be a "been there-done that" type of thing and would be reviewed that way as not an original idea.Byrneout wrote:The Nightman TV series was atrocious in my opinion, but even then, it was better than what Marvel did to the character. Also, I though that Armstrong was supposed to be sort of the beer drinking, always eatin, immortal slob, to be played by a John Goodman type as opposed to Gilad who is the Eternal Here type character.
I am selling "nothing" on ebay-yet.

RE: Unity the movie
It'd make a hell of a movie. Pretty tough to get the same impact without the build up of what Solar and Erica had experienced before. The backstory would be tough to get across.
Maybe a trilogy like LOTR?

I had another thought for a movie after viewing certain previews before "The Punisher" last night...
"Darque Passages"
Build the movie around the initial VH-2 Master Darque storyline, with ancillary references to Shadowman.
I think that could be the strongest, as it is one of the characters that could have a movie built around them without being classified as a "super hero" flick.
