I would be interested in one of the DIVINITY #1 1:40 variants. Assuming I wouldn't have to take out a second mortgage on my house to purchase it.

I'm working out the details, but this would be to help out our friend Lewis LaRosa while at the same time giving several folks here the chance to score some of the HOTTEST HTF copies.
Anyone interested?

All 1st signed copy books need to be signed in person.
If not then it's just 1st mailed copy to creator.
If you are going to meet with him, then great.
If not, then it's not a 1st signed copy book.

I would think if the creator writes "first signed copy" then it's the first signed copy, regardless of how the sig was obtained.Elveen wrote:All 1st signed copy books need to be signed in person.

Not when there is a clear pattern already established for these books.
I'm not saying that there are RULES POSTED for these books, but that is how it has always been done.
WE created these books, organically. By interacting with the creators. It is our thing we have created.
I think it would be lame to change something so cool.
That is my opinion on the matter. I've posted it a few other times, and I will not change it.
Now, to be clear, I'm not "in charge" of first signed copy books. BUT, every single FSCB has been signed in person.
I think mailing books to a creator and having them signed FSC ruins what makes these books so special.
If someone wants to do something else. that is them.

They are his own personal books, already in his posession. I interact on an almost daily basis with Lewis, and we talk about everything from how to work out better, to family, to drawing styles. Now, I would love to fly out of the Middle East and stand next to him when he signs, but Uncle Sam and money won't allow it unfortunately. Still, as a means to help an artist out and also to add a personal touch to some HTF books, it's hard for me to say it's wrong or different. He will sign and send the books directly to each person involved, which is as good as it gets for the time being. The goal really is to help the guy out.

I can totally understand that.
I've already stated my point. I stand by everything I posted.
I don't like telling anyone what to do.
But it seems to me that a precident has already been set, many many times over. That is my point.

Hey cool thing you are doing. Great you have a connection on a personal level with the artist to get this books signed. Don't know the in and outs of first signed copy, I had multiple signatures on mine ~ with only two being first signed copy, the other signature being just a sig. Maybe I should have used three separate books.
Its all cool!
DirtBag only suggested it for someone, if they want it.
Don't want to rock the boat, or annoy anyone in first signed copy club, I don't have my first signed copy book now anyway. It is what it is. Lets just have fun, a first signed book is just the first book signed. Its only important to the person holding it.
As for Divinity 1 sales, I still havn't read issue two or three. I don't even think I have issue 2 ~ let me guess ~ its going up in price aswell?
I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
I finally sold my extra copies of Divinity #1 Cover B and #1 1:20 on eBay for $43.00 shipped. This almost covers my total cost for the books I kept:
#1 Cover B
#1 1:20
#2 1:30
#3 1:10
I love it when it works out like that.
