I just read some more Detective Comics by Paul Dini. Great done in one stories.
I am not getting sucked into Batman. It's *not* going to happen.

I got so much stuff at Wondercon this year I have a ton of reading to do. I got the first two trades of DMZ, finished up my Invisibles set, got a few Conan trades, the first Invincible trade, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember now.
The only thing I couldn't find was 7 Soldiers Of Victory volume 2. I have 1, 3 and 4, but I need volume 2 before i start reading.

I love Invisibles . . I have all the single issues though . . I will probably try to sell and switch to trades . .
I am in the same baot with 7 Soldiers . . I have 1 & 4 (got them on sale) and am looking for 2 & 3 before reading . .

Let me know what you think of DMZ . . I was looking at getting that and 100 bullets to read . . .

I read all of the 7 Soldiers minis and end books, and as much as I have liked Morrison's writing since his fantastic 'Zenith' days, I was very 'meh' with his 7 Soldiers stuff - probably compounded by the release schedule that became increasingly erratic as I was reading it, culminating in a long wait for the end book that felt like an anti-climax, sorry to say.siren3-4 wrote:Dr. Solar wrote:I got so much stuff at Wondercon this year I have a ton of reading to do. DMZ is excellent. Pick up the first trade. The last several single issues have not been as good as the rest of the series. Usually, it's 5-6 issue arcs, but the last several issues have been about individual characters and not quite as interesting. It's yet another series that reads better in trades.siren3-4 wrote:

I thought DMZ was alright. Kinda a cross between Transmetropolitan and 100 Bullets in terms of tone and style.400yrs wrote:DMZ is excellent. Pick up the first trade. I am not gonna rush to get the next trades after reading the first two. It was good, but just not really my cup of tea. The trades are cheap though, the first one is $10, the second is $13. If you get them at instocktrades or something, they will be nice and cheap.
I was so so about it, but I can see why people like it.

I hear they are. I'll let you know if they are worth checking out.Elveen wrote:Dr. Solar wrote:After finishing up New Frontier and DMZ, I am back to some good natured, wholesome Conan stories. I picked up the second and third trade last weekend.
I also think I'll read some Valiant comics.
Are those any good?

Shooter can sure write him some of dem der comic books.
Ok. Is there more of a descriptor if I asked someone to find them for me?
Meaning, is there like Vol. #1, or is it "west coast LOSH"? or just LoSH #37-39?

"current series" should be enough. The indica doesn't list a volume and is on the last page.Elveen wrote:Chiclo wrote:See if you can dig up the last three issues of Legion of Super Heroes, #s 37, 38 and 39.Elveen wrote:Read the first few issues of The Powers That Be..... I really, really like it.
