Yeah, it will be interesting to see if the book ticks up with Divinity II. It's been sliding from around $120 eight months ago to around $85 presently.nycjadie wrote:That is a sweet haul! Good on you man and perfect timing with Divinity II!

I think the non-9.8 variants will end up being the really rare version of this book.

That's pretty funny. It is a sturdy comic.depluto wrote:I think the non-9.8 variants will end up being the really rare version of this book.

I feel that way about my Bloodshot Platinum - the lowest graded copy.

Re: They're here: 17 Triple Signed 9.8s
Interesting that it specifies that signature date, 10/10/15. I've never submitted signed books before, didn't know it was something they noted. I like that these have an early signature date.

Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
I picked up a set of Divinity (and The Valiant) off of eBay but mine are VF+ at best ... only paid $18 and shipping though, so obviously not going to ever CGC these.
I want to admit that I was not overly impressed with the Divinity story though ... I think my graduate studies in the USSR (actually Medieval Russia through the USSR) is keeping me from enjoying the story for what it is. "In Soviet Union, story enjoys you!"
However, I am definitely putting in my order for Divinity II ... I'll put my disbelief in the gulag so I can enjoy the story this time.

HAHAHA Exactly! Thanks for the link!

Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
Had Jmatt disproved the theory that you shouldn't send multiples of the same book to CGC in the same shipment?

Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
He may have! Although the prestige format books grade very well. I'm assuming the stiffer cover stock holds up better assuming you treat your comics with any respect. Every single prestige format book I've submitted has come back 9.8 or higher. These are books that are handled, packaged, and shipped 3,000 miles across the country to me before I unpack them and then repackage them to ship to CGC.StarBrand wrote:Had Jmatt disproved the theory that you shouldn't send multiples of the same book to CGC in the same shipment?

Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
I had one come back a 9.6. I blame handling of the book at CGC though!
I've screened several that weren't 9.8. The problem is if they are mishandled in distribution, there is no pressing those books into shape.

Oddly enough, that was my own theory.StarBrand wrote:Had Jmatt disproved the theory that you shouldn't send multiples of the same book to CGC in the same shipment?
I think I would agree it was disproved.
Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
Lol! I didn't realize that was your theory, although I remember reading your putting it forth.

Well if he gets 4500 for that copy I'll put my 9.9 for sale at 10k

Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
An honest question: What is the point of that? A 9.8 went for $369 back in November. Is he trying to set a different benchmark for the book somehow? He must have a reason, I just don't know what it is.BloodShot wrote:Uhm, say do what now?
