There. I used the marks first, I win. Ha!

As I know you didn't spend the $45 for the "Registration of a basic claim in an original work of authorship." because there are no works with him in them. Furthermore you did not spend the $100 for the "preregistration filing fee". because none of the two requirements below can be met by you.
Eligibility: To be eligible for preregistration, it is required that:
creation and fixation of the literary work must have already commenced;
the claimant in the work can verify that he has a reasonable expectation that the work will be commercially distributed in the form of a book.

Also...
In reality, Brian, as the first author to use that name in this thread, owns it.
The way in which copyright protection is secured is frequently misunderstood. No publication or registration or other action in the Copyright Office is required to secure copyright. There are, however, certain definite advantages to registration.
Copyright is secured automatically when the work is created, and a work is "created" when it is fixed in a copy or phonorecord for the first time.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

I didn't gather that they were going to be distributed there? I thought Brian was just securing the lithos to ship to K&C so he could decide what to do with them. I may be wrong though...
Nice av btw Trent.

Why spend $70 on gasoline to get to and from Vegas to SD, pay for a day pass to the convention, AND get a room at a motel 6 for $60 (no one here's gonna let him "share a room")?
So he wanted to go to the convention and he just happened to have the lithos is how I see it. Now he's going to be pawning off the shipping cost to someone else.

This is what I know...
Justin contacted Brian letting him know he would be at the con. He wanted to give him the Litho's and the magnus/nexus books.
When I was contacted by Brian about this, I advised him I wanted no part in any of these projects.
I suggested that instead of the litho's being given, the money should be refunded.
As to the magnus/nexus books, although the monies rcvd from this project were going to CF, I suggested that they be given back to the person bringing them and to be put somewhere....... where...... I will not repeat.
Brian does have the litho's with him now as he drives back home...(300 miles?).
As for the magnus/nexus books, it seems they were not taken to the con as they were with Mike Baron for signing...Well I can tell you..an email was sent to Mike and he does not have them....another lie...no surprise
I feel it is inappropriate to deal with anyone whose deceitful lies and cheating ways have mocked one to many of our boardmembers.
This is why I hv asked for any and all mention of the Big Apple show to be removed from the "litho's if they are ever sold.

It should be interesting to see what BTE has to say. Wonder how all that smoke felt going up the butt. I've never had that feeling before.

John, I totally understand where you are coming from. I also completely agree but wonder with a part of me if this couldn't be turned good by still selling these items and getting the money to CF. Even if the books are "stained" the kids who the money could help shouldn't suffer if they are really done.
