Oh, you're going to love it!! Sodam Yat was prophesized waaaaay back during the first Crisis in the mid 80's to be the most powerful GL to ever join the Corps. He's now fulfilled that prophecy. That's why I love Geoff Johns so much as a writer. He really does his homework and his writing is excellent.Dr. Solar wrote:I wasn't too excited about this, because I don't really know who Sodam Yat is as a character. I haven't been reading GLC (though I did just pick up the entire run up to Sinestro War for $0.50 and issue, so I need to catch up).Lightning Strike wrote:**Spoilers**
I thought it was awesome when the Guardians put Ion into Sodam Yat, making him THE most powerful GL ever. And I can't wait for him to beat the crud out of Superman Prime in the next issue!!
Yat is a Daxamite, so he's basically Superman with a GL ring to the 10th degree because he carries Ion inside of him. And Yat doesn't have any of Superman's weaknesses because his ring shields him from lead poisoning and the effects of a red sun.

Is the Yat prophecy actually in Crises on Infinite Earths? I don't remember that at all..Lightning Strike wrote:Oh, you're going to love it!! Also, I heard mention that the idea of the prophecy is from an Alan Moore Abin Sur story. Anyone know what issue this is from? I wonder if I have them..

I'll post some stuff tomorrow if I get a chance. My wife and I are going to a play tonight of "Anne Frank".

I love that while spotlighting the Earth Lanterns and making them the centerpiece of the story, the other Lanterns aren't being ignored. Sodam Yat's development in this story has been amazing. Kilowog has been returned to the spotlight. And classic heroes like Stel, Green Man, Salaak, Arisia and Mogo have all played great parts in the story as well. This story has given me a lot of reasons to continue with the series after the story is concluded.

yes it is still on. I just read Green Lantern #24, Green Lantern Corps 16,17 and the Cyborg, Superman Prime and Parallax specials all in one sitting the other night. Good stuff. Green Lantern #25 I believe is the finale. The issue has been delayed due to the extra size. Also Green Lantern Corps #18 is still coming with the Ion vs Superman Prime fight and I believe the Sinestro special was delayed and should be out soon. Green Lantern Corps 19 is an epilogue. I have read all the Green Lantern issues, but decided to skip the GLC book. I changed my mind and now trying to get #13-15, but they are getting big $$$ on the 'bay so the trades may be the cheapest way to go.

Anyone read the last issue of this yesterday?
I thought it was awesome. This is some of the best super hero comic stuff I have seen in years. It had a good, real ending that was satisfying, but it opened the doors up for even more awesomeness in the future. Man, this stuff was really really good.
Highly recommended to any/everyone.
