Re: Shadowman 11 discussion
I just read this issue and liked it. Nothing to write home about, but I enjoyed the Jack's internal monolgue and normal issue where Shadowman was patrolling New Orleans and just being Shadowman. No Dox, no Darque, no Deadside jumps, etc. I also had problems with the detachable mask partially detaching when i was reading the book. How many people had that problem? Overall 5/10 issue.
I will also saw that I liked this issue better than Jordan's main Shadowman story. That being said my rankings for each issue of this series thus far is as follows:
First Place - Issue #0 and 10 tied for best of this series - truely awesome reads
Second Place - Issue (#11) as just an okay story
Last Place (don't even want to call it Third place) for an even tie issues #1-9 (which I didn't like at all)
I think Milligan doesn't have to try very hard to impress me, and I truely hope his writing can at least take second place.

I enjoyed it for what it was... a filler, done-in-one issue.
It seems that I enjoyed the art more than others and I enjoyed Dr. Mirage's appearance.

Re: Shadowman 11 discussion
One issue that I have had with this book from the beginning is this:
At times it seems like the Shadow loa "possesses" Jack and is control. (or at least it seems that way from the dialogue.) Off hand, I can't name previous examples from issues 1-9, but they were there. In this issue, it occurs on page 12 when Shadowman says to the possessed frat boys, "Don't make me hurt you, little spirits." To me, that sounds more like the loa talking than Jack. But at other times it seems like Jack is in control.
My desire for this book is to have the loa not just be a source of power for Jack but also as a dark spirit that does possess him. It should be in control at times. It should make him wilder and angrier, like it did in the original series.
Just my

Re: Shadowman 11 discussion
I think if we did a worst issue list, Shadowman would have most of the books on it. That last arc was pretty brutal, and this one was extremely mediocre. A&A #5 and Bloodshot #13 are the only other single issues that come to mind that I'd rank as low.lorddunlow wrote:+1 I'm going to just pretend this issue doesn't exist.Tim wrote:Worst single issue Valiant has published so far.
