My birthday just passed, so I scored a couple of games from my kids and four Game Stop gift cards, so I am now playing:

(all Xbox 360)
Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat
Jericho
Conan
F.E.A.R.
and
Assassin's Creed (wow)

(PS3)
Heavenly Sword
Resistance: Fall of Man

I still pick up Heavenly Sword (God of War rip off but in a GOOD way) on the PS3 and Resistance: Fall of Man, even at 720p they play and look GREAT.

But I really have to comment on Assassin's Creed. This game is simply amazing and visually a game has never looked better. It's not very hard to play but it DOES make you think and damn but some of the kills are just beautiful. The story behind it all is VERY intricatly woven and draws you in from the first minute, I say it comes in second in story telling compared to Heavenly Sword (which I equate to an Epic Movie).

With the 'wallet rape months' in full swing, I am sure that there will be lots to choose from during the holiday season and I would put Assassin's Creed at the top of anyones list.

I thought that I would enjoy Jericho but the thing is just plain 'evil' and if you think that you can rely on your comrades... forget it. They die more often than attendees to a Jim Jones Kool-Aid Social. The story starts off just outright blasphemous and I think that is what turned me off on it.

Conan... hack and slash with saving naked chicks. Need not say more as that is pretty much any Conan story. I got it because I am a HUGE Conan fan, so it appeases my appetite for that.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat... same as the others, different weapons, beautiful graphics and balls to the wall action from the get go... not a boring moment to be had... NEVER.

I picked up F.E.A.R. tonight just so that I can $hit myself every 45 minutes... simple as that. (AND I got it for $10)

I look forward to the new Splinter Cell game... this time hardly any stealth involved and a game called Prototype, which sounds like it has a lot of potential but may have to take a backseat to the other games I have going (yeah I said that about Assassin's Creed as well  )

I would like to finish Ultimate Spider-Man and The Punisher but my save games are on my old Xbox (which my daughter has) and I dont want to go through all that work again to finish them up. Any way to get those games off from there and put them on my 360 ?

Sea of Fire - pretty addictive little Flash game. Similar to Desktop Defender, a lot of fund once you get the hang of it. Doesn't take long to develop a strategy to defeat the levels pretty easily, just takes patience and time.

I wrote this review for site, it should be noted that this was before I finished the game the review still stands.

Mass Effect is *SQUEE* awesome.
Take Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 style RPG add in RE4's combat system mixed a tactical recon game. And set it in a new sci-fi universe that is equal mix Star Wars, Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica
with a top notch voice cast that includes Keith David, Seth Green, and more what do you get?
You get Mass Effect. Bioware's newest masterpiece.

This was the game that made me buy an XBox 360 not Oblivion. It had a lot of hype well all I can say is BELEIVE THE HYPE!

Mass Effect's graphics are like watching a top notch Hollywood cgi movie. The dialogue is excellent and the characters are some of the most jaw dropping awesome looking characters EVER.

This game has an incredible new sci-fi universe that is equal to any of 3 that I mentioned earlier. You will have to make some very difficult choices and it's not as black and white as it was Jade Empire and KotOR.
Example: You get this side quest where the government won't release the body of dead solider to her husband for burial. The government wants to study the body to help in the aid of making better defences for soldiers and the husband wants to cremate the body and take the ashes back to Earth.
Both sides are equally right and it's you have to decide who gets the body.

If you love great games regardless of genre then buy this game you won't be disappointed. This is the first game since Final Fantasy VII that I actually played for close to 8 hours in one setting. This is definitely RPG of the year if not Game of the year.
It gets the ultra rare Cyberstrike's rating of a 5 out 5.

FEAR - Perseus Mandate (freak'in awesome as usual)
Crysis - Cool first person shooter with X-O type power suite.

Both of these are very cool games. I HIGHLY recommend them. The FEAR game is basically FEAR 2 & is a stand alone game.

Has anybody picked up the 360 version of "Scene it" yet? I'm not usually big on party games, but it might be fun with the holidays coming up.

I played the demo and liked it more than the DVD/Board game. It is a big hit with the family so I will probably pick it up before I head home for the holidays.

I played Guitar Hero III in the store during a recent trip to GameStop. Dang what a fun game. I never imagined it would be that fun. The feel of playing a guitar and actually making music was awesome. Made me want to go buy a guitar and take lessons.

Playing FEAR files on the 360 ... that game really freaks me out at night. It's an expansion but it has more gameplay than a lot of FPS now.

One the PS3 I downloaded Pain. Well worth the price. You use a giant slingshot to fire a guy around a city knocking things down with as much style as possible. Crazy ragdoll stuff but no blood.

It's the same way around here. I think it's going to be one of the biggest games of the year.

I have started playing FEAR as well (it was only $15) and LOVE it. I got quite a ways through it on the PC but it plays even better on the 360.

PAIN is an awesome game. Me, my brother in law and my Dad were playing it yesterday and all of us were laughing to loud and hard that the whole family came in to see if we werent dipping into my pain pills or something !!!

Great fun and WELL worth the $9.99 in entertaiment and laughs that you will get out of this great PS3 download. 'Spank the Monkey' is a level well worth your time and maturity level. Just something about a farting monkey that makes men crack up no matter how old you are.

I traded in my Halo 3 game to help with the purchase of Assassin's Creed. I just could not get 'into' H3. Lotta hype for what seemed like a lotta Halo 2 that looked prettier.

I finished both parts of FEAR Files ... about 12 hours of gameplay there, which is more than most full-title FPS nowadays.

Really tough game, though.

I can't tell how much ammo I wasted on cheap scares.

You need to video tape yourself playing a scary game like that sometime and post it on you tube.

I have put my 42" HDTV in our bedroom (w/ 360 and PS3)... it has gotten to the point to where start swearing after a 'ammo wasting cheap scare' and obviously it is enough to wake the wife (and we have a HUGE bedroom) and her asking me to 'keep it down'. Of course, that leads to 'hey honey, now that you are up, you wanna... uh-huh, yes dear I will either be quiet or come to bed. No... no... I wont grope you. Nope. Nope. Promise... no REALLY. But are you SURE that yo... ok, I'll go back to playing now. Shhhhh yes I know.'

Just finished Punisher. Not a perfect game but it's still a blast to play with great story and gameplay that really capture the character. I enjoyed the story so much, it's actually got me curious about getting some Ennis Punisher trades.

Still working on Burnout 3. This sucker is epic! I'm 41 percent of the way through the game overall.

And I just started Fantastic Four (the one loosely based on the first movie). Not a perfect game but damn am I loving actually being able to play as the Fantastic Four and clobber their rogues gallery!
