I'd like to go but there is no way I can shoulder the cost of a hotel room by myself.

It looks like Hotel Penn still has rooms. That place would be perfect since the Cons right there.

If I fiddle with 2-4 adults over the same four nights that Zero mentions then the charge is $250-$300 per night. Split four ways that becomes affordable.

The Hotel Penn is gonna be as cheap as just about anyplace in NYC that weekend unless you stay at a hostel or something like that. John and I were discussing this as I went to the National last November and unfortunatley for us it falls right at the beginning of the "Christmas in NY" shopping season. I think some of the guys stayed at the New Yorker last April which is just around the corner. Rooms at the Penn are really "hit or miss" as it is a very old hotel and whether your room has been renovated recently is an issue. In April I had a great room and last weekend I had a lousy one. We may be able to get a group rate somewhere, I don't know. Also, staying right outside the city and taking the train in is also an option for someone who wants to save money.

From what I can tell the show is shaping up to be pretty impressive for VALIANT fans. The artists that I talked to last weekend were looking forward to it, and since they all had a great time last year and the word got around there'll probably be a larger turnout on their part.

Also, any of you guys who don't know, John (svair) puts a huge amount of time and effort into organizing this show. I was extremely impressed as he sort of runs a VALIANTcon inside the Con. I am really looking forward to this show.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

How much hair do you have?

Wait... sometimes the only thing worse than the answer is a question.
