You are right. This sale is bittersweet.wallywest wrote:Congrats!worldsbestcomics wrote:Oh, by the way. My book has sold
I think...Seems like a bittersweet sale.
The book I am buying with the proceeds of this sale is X-Men 107 CGC 9.8. There is only one CGC 9.8 copy of this book currently in the census.
Some of you know that one of my non-Valiant collection goals is a CGC 9.8 run of X-Men 94-143. The 107 is one of the keys to the run because of its scarcity. The owner of this book (and the current top Registry set) agreed to sell it to me along with six other 9.8 books I need to finish the run (96, 97, 98, 104, 120 & 132). I don't know if I can afford to buy all of them - I am going to do my best. But with this sale, I will at least have the key.
I hope to find another CGC 9.8 copy of Harbinger 1 to keep my set intact. The buyer has graciously agreed to trade me back my original owner copy if I can get another CGC 9.8 copy to send him. Wish me luck

That is a very respectable set to put together.worldsbestcomics wrote:You are right. This sale is bittersweet.wallywest wrote:Congrats!worldsbestcomics wrote:Oh, by the way. My book has sold

Here's to hoping you end up with BOTH sets in the end.

Speaking of GPA (no, not THIS sale), since you have the website, Greg, YOU could approach GPA and they might allow this sale on the analysis. It was, after all, sold through this website. GPA told me that I had to have a website, so they wouldn't allow my sales to Rico count.greg wrote:I didn't tell her about the sale.Jrdawg wrote:She's paying...for the rest of her life!greg wrote:I just sold my CGC 9.8 Harbinger #1 for $4,800!![]()
The buyer is my wife. She's going to use the "never payment plan".
You'd have a bit more clout, I imagine.
Worth a shot.

Pfffft.
I thought this was gonna be like a CGC 2.0 copy of Detective #29. BOOOOOO!

Ok, seriously, a CGC 9.8 set of X-Men #94-143 would be pretty damn impressive. Some of you know that one of my non-Valiant collection goals is a CGC 9.8 run of X-Men 94-143. I'm still #1 in Albedo and Batman #400-500, SUCKA!!!!!

I think I'll try for that 9.8 McFarlane Amazing run....I had SIX of the 29 books required, but I seem to have misplaced ALL of them!
I hope to find another CGC 9.8 copy of Harbinger 1 to keep my set intact. The buyer has graciously agreed to trade me back my original owner copy if I can get another CGC 9.8 copy to send him. Wish me luck

Listen...I've got the hoard just about unleashed....I'll do my best. Wish ME luck!

Even a SINGLE CGC book, regardless of grade, would likely do MASSIVE colo-rectal damage.....

I'm pretty sure the former mayor (Willie Brown) actually was a pimp at some point in his career.Chiclo wrote:No, Gavin Newsom is still mayor of San Frantastic.ncameron wrote:Wasnt the former mayor involved with some kind of show involving whips, chains, handcuffs and non-lubed slabbed books.Dr. Solar wrote:This is San Francisco.
