I didn't care what they sold for.

FYI...when I first posted them for sale (with prices) last month, I could have made $100 more, just off the Mag, Solar, & EW. Back then, I changed my mind, & said they weren't for sale anymore. The prices I was offered was too much to resist, & made a couple of board members sell their VcVSS copies behind the scenes, so certain 'big spenders' didn't need them anymore.

dunno if you just mean the "big spender" issues or not, but I got the Bloodshot 7 from Steve, and will be getting a copy of Ninjak from Knight whenever the shipping thing works itself out. Hopefully #5 of each. hope that helps...

Yeah, looks like Bloodshot went for $51, EW for $152.50, Solar for $204.01, and Magnus for $280.

BTW...another Magnus sold last week for $267.76 as well.

Will the VcVSS ever be entered in the price guide?
How about it Greg?

I don't think Fan projects should be added to the Price Guide. If that's the case, then all the Fan projects that Joe Petrilak produced should also be included. Some of them are:

1. Several signed V2 #1's with Acclaim Ink COA's;

2. Unity 2000 Preview signed by Jim Shooter from Valiantcomics Online (Limited to 70 with COA);

3. 20 V1 Unity issues signed "...To Be Continued" signed by Jim Shooter (to promote Unity 2000)--No COA;

4. Bloodshot V1 vs. Bloodshot V2 Limited to 50 Signed Print (Acclaim Ink--3 sigs, COA printed on back);

5. Bloodshot card set (printable off computer);

6. VALIANT: 1999 & Beyond book (signed & unsigned version exist)

Did I miss anything?
Should these be added to the list?

Most all of them would be near impossible to find.

I don't think the VcVSS books should be in the "price guide." I think price guides should be strictly for officially released items. However, I think info on the VcVSS books should be included in the database. When I initially tried to find info on the VcVSS books, I figured the database would be the best place to look but I found absolutely no mention of them. If the two are connected and putting a VcVSS in the database automatically adds it to the price guide, a price of "N/A" or "priceless" or a null value could be assigned to it.

The only reason I make that suggestion is because, as I said, being late to arrive here it was very difficult for me to find any info on them. I'd see mention of them in the boards, but really didn't know what they were, what issues were available, etc. I don't think they should be in Overstreet or Wizard or anything like that, of course. Nor do I think this site should keep info on fan produced work made outside of this site. But I think a little info about them in the Library & Database section of the site would be beneficial.

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

These projects that were done through this site do deserve a place in price guild.
If for no other reason then photographic reference.
That way "Noobies" can see what we are talking about when they come up in conversation.
Maybe we don't need what they sell for on a secondary market just the original price when the project was done.

Could we just put up the original prices paid? That way the baseline's set and the books are documented. BTW, make sure you note all the cool stuff that came with the projects and don't list the ASH book until I get one. :twisted: :P

Chris,

To answer your question about the ASH, yes it was signed and numbered on the cover.

ASH stood for Acclaim Signature Heroes. The X-O book came signed by Mark Waid and Sean Chen.

The book came in a a reg bag with board but that was inside a Wizard heavy grade, self sticking bag with a board that was made into it ( I hadn't seen one before).

It came with a copy of a sketch of the acclaim version of X-O by Sean Chen. This came in a side loading sheet protector. The sketch was numbered also.

The COA showed a picture of the books cover, told who signed it and then was numbered again.

The total production number of the book was 25.

The book looks very well done and Is a nice fan produced VH2 project! IMO there was considerable effort put into the project. The only weak things about it was the small number of books offered and the fact that it just suddenly came up on the boards without notice. I happened to see it right away and was fortunate enough to get one. I think it is very much like the VcVSS projects in alot of ways ( An Acclaim version of them anyway). The main exception being it doesn't have Gregs name on the COA. Other than that, I can't see a lot of differences. Each VcVSS was a little different from the rest, but each had its strong points that stood out. The ASH edition has similar aspects to the VcVSS books, so it shouldn't be totally overlooked by any means.

-Joe

I don't think these books need to be in the price guide but since they are Valiant Comics.com Validated Signature Series books there should be a section on the site detailing them.

How did you not put this together? shamdasani cant be that common of a name in the valiant community. Oh and I spelled that correctly from memory which makes me very proud of myself. Though I dont think that dino has made a formal annoucement that he is part of the group that purchased valiant...There are atleast 2 board members involved with the deal though. The better question would be exactly how they talked the money people into doing this..

Hey Dawg,
Can you explain this. I went back and looked at the thread where all of this was originally discussed and it appears that it was not dino.

Hmm is that the thread that John Taddeo started? As i understand it, JT might not have been 100% correct when he made a lot of the statements in that thread. I would take anything JT said with a grain of salt. Check out the other threads where they talk about the names of the folks that bought valiant. All of the names are familiar.

But the posts talking about Dino wasnt the buyer were from John taddeo right? I would take anything John Taddeo said after he didnt win the properties with a grain of salt...Several sources have confirmed that dino is involved with the new valiant. Including people not on this board.
