I know that a comic line like Atlas-Seaboard does not have the time nor the vivid history as does Valiant but I see here a former comic line that is back on the stands while Valiant continues to collect dust.
It is starting to feel like that Xbox 360 game Too Human... took the team YEARS to finally get it on the shelves, touting that is was going to change gaming or it took us so long because we wanted to make it PERFECT and then when it was on my doorstep... it failed across the board.
Whatever is taking SO... SO long, has a chance of not being that good after all. None of the remakes to date have inspired, impressed or blown people away. Maybe it is the market or maybe not but I can't think of why it would take SO LONG with this and not even have been able to squirt out a turd ?
Seeing as how we all have been waiting so long, I hope that everyone does not jump up and down when VEI finally gets off their behinds. For the wait, you would expect that these would be the best thing since sliced bread. Just because the Valiant compass goes into print someday, don't be fooled by fanboy preoccupation and accept substandard comics.
You can only wait so long until you start to lose people and that wait is going to taint their perspectives or you will be on the opposite end and call call a piece of dog-crap caviar just because 'OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG.... can't breath... OMG OMG OMG OMG... 'Some Valiant Title #1' is hitting the stands !!!! OMG, I am gonna die... IT'S SO FLUFFY !!!!'
eh, you get my drift.
OK, I will go change my tampon now.

Maybe slym and woogie got recruited by VEI when they stopped by the office and have signed NDAs so they can't reveal anything.Zaphod wrote:yeah, I would love an update on this, if anyone checked it out...or did we lose some peeps. I don't need a NDA; just pay me a few bucks and you've bought my silence for all but the most serious crimes! a/k/a "on retainer"iggy101us wrote:Maybe slym and woogie got recruited by VEI when they stopped by the office and have signed NDAs so they can't reveal anything.Zaphod wrote:yeah, I would love an update on this, if anyone checked it out...or did we lose some peeps. No, I haven't gone over to TWT's office to bother him. Why doesn't someone just PM him, I'm sure he'll respond to whatever reasonable inquiries you may have.

That time again I guess. VEI as a comics publisher are dead as far as I can tell, and was barely ever living - and 400yrs owns the best quote on that issue of publishing (from 2008):
Anyone feel otherwise?
Anyone beyond caring?
Just looking back over some posts by dino. This struck me, his penultimate (thus far) post, from 2009:400yrs wrote:It sucks that "new comics" cost $24.95 now for like 8 pages. Do you plan to collect these stories at some point and put into a single issue (which is what I consider a "comic")?dino wrote: No new comics by years end?
I think you are referring to monthly pamphlets since new comics have been included with each hardcover. In that case, I'm sorry you misunderstood. Read more carefully next time.
Prior to that regarding new comics publishing (again from 2008; sorry to rake this up):dino wrote:Hi guys, We're still here, and there's some really exciting news that we'll be announcing. The only reason I have refrained from posting anything is that it can often cause more harm than good. But everyone seemed especially restless today, so I thought I may as well jump in this time. I will continue to read, but not be active on these boards for the foreseeable future. Hope everyone had a great holiday. Dino
So does anyone who bought those hardcovers feel let down like I do?dino wrote:Generating. Not publishing. No release date information has been announced yet.Geomancer wrote:![]()
Monthlies!
By the end of the year!
Anyone feel otherwise?
Anyone beyond caring?

I am still hoping.
It seems that right now there are a bunch of non Marvel and DC books that I see at shops. Not sure how sucessful they are, but they are there.
I do wish there was more information. I can also understand the negitive feelings that some (many) have here.
But, I remain hopeful, but not really expecting.

Same here. You can't say they were lying about any of the above things, because they had Shooter and were developing a universe with monthly comics (presumably) and doing it the way the fans had wanted.Elveen wrote:I am still hoping.
Losing Jim had to kind of sweep the rug out from under them so to speak. I'm speaking with no knowledge, but I imagine they have been carrying on with a skeleton crew to cut costs. The fact that they haven't folded says they're still fighting the fight and for that I applaud them.
I understand the gripes many on here have with them, and I'm sure they would admit to making mistakes while learning on the fly. However I'm still glad that true fans have these properties and not a corporation (Time Warner or Disney) or a huckster like Taddeo (no offense).
