Signed Acclaim Books
I was wondering if some of the Acclaim fans in the house could educate me on signed Acclaim books.
I know there are DF signed books out there, but which titles were DF signed and in what quantity?
Also, i've come across some of the variant painted #1's, Magnus, Bloodshot and Ninjak, that have a signature, but no certificate. Did Acclaim give out signed dealer incentive books?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Signed Acclaim Books
Yes, they did. I was a retailer at the time and was sent a signed X-O painted variant, and a Q&W retailer review and possibly others. Just signed, no COA. These weren't really incentives based on my ordering. They were sent to me personally by one of their reps (his name was Weldon - sometime he used the pen name "Well Done") for helping push their books in my store.GJB wrote:Also, i've come across some of the variant painted #1's, Magnus, Bloodshot and Ninjak, that have a signature, but no certificate. I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Interesting info. Thanks for sharing! I've got many books that I felt were signed for that sort of situation. I'll try to put a couple scans up later. Please tell me if they match up with what you received from Acclaim. Thanks, ~Pete
Thanks for the information guys. It's interesting trying to figure out the story behind these books.
What was the deal with the signed Unity preview book? Was it DF's or something unrelated. In case you aren't sure what I'm talking about, It was very limited in number, maybe 50 copies?, and came with a certificate of authenticity. I think it was signed by Jim Shooter and another person. There was a copy on ebay a few months ago.

I believe the books you're talking about were a fan project done by Joe Petrilak. They were signed before valiantfans.com was around at about the same time as the Bloodshot vs Bloodshot print was produced.GJB wrote: What was the deal with the signed Unity preview book? I picked up a bunch of signed Acclaims a couple of years ago from the back room stock of a local store that never hit the shelves. The only two I still have is a Q&W #1 Retailer Review signed on the cover by Priest (it will be posted on eBay this week), and a copy of Shadowman v3 #3 signed on the Unity 2000 flip cover by Shooter and someone else.
Other signed issues that I can recall were:
Turok RedPath #1 signed by Kayanan (the copy Greg has scanned for this site is signed as well)
Q&W #0 signed by Priest and Bright that was a Wizard Authentic variant and came with the COA
Cheers,

I've never seen one either. With only one hundred copies though, it's going to be a tough one to find.iggy101us wrote:Does anyone else have a copy of this?
